Featuring high-pressure die-cast crankcases; repositioned alternator and starter motor drive; lighter internals; revised lubrication and cooling systems and a new gearchange mechanism the new engine is quieter at idle; cooler running and much more potent. The new chassis is also lighter more nimble and quicker-steering. The wheelbase is reduced by 11mm to 1429mm steering geometry is steepened for increased agility and the rear of the bike is raised to increase ground clearance. A new lightweight 17-inch front wheel saves unsprung weight and further improves steering response. Front suspension is multi-adjustable as is the rear which retains the stylish single-sided swingarm. Sporting revised bodywork a smaller instrument pod and closer set headlights the Speed Triple's looks are as brutally handsome as ever.
