1967 Triumph T120TT This is a great Triumph Barn Find. The bad news first: The engine case doesn't match the frame. The top-end may be original '67 T120TT specification. but the case numbers are 1971 TR6R. This was a competition bike and it's not unusual to expect engine damage. but it obviously has drastic effects on the value of the bike today. not having matching numbers. It's mostly good news from here. Aside from a few items. this is a very original bike. The carbs are correct TT spec: 389/95 Monoblocs w/ '66 date codes. This leads me to believe that the head is also correct. as the case is from a single carb TR6R. All of the TT specific parts are on the bike. Obviously the handlebars have been changed. and there was a lighting kit added. The tail light is a Beck unit and there are wires for a removable headlight. I believe this is all correct for the TriCor dealer installed lighting kit that was popular here in the eastern US. The gas tank has no dents and the original paint and patina are very nice. There is very minor surface rust inside the tank. The kickstand lug is broken and the bike was leaned up against a wall in a barn here in TN for many years. The left side of the bike has more corrosion than the right. but it's still a very solid machine throughout. I believe the rear fender has been bobbed slightly and the front fender is obviously missing. The tachometer glass is broken. I believe that someone attempted to "improve" the final digit in the VIN. which is an 8 that was not set very deep on its right side. by stamping a 3 to represent the right side of the 8. This is the only digit in the VIN that is not in the correct font and size. but you can clearly see the underlying 8 that is soft on the right side. The seat pan is very solid and even the plastic tool tray is intact. The engine does turn over. The front tire is completely falling apart. but it is the correct 3. 50 size for the TT bikes. This is a great opportunity to own one of the most desirable vintage Triumph motorcycles. at an affordable price. Because the correct engine has been lost to history. this will never be a concourse restoration TT bike. But it's an opportunity to rebuild a fun and desirable motorcycle that you can actually ride. I love the patina as is. or it could be restored with blank cases and you'll have a very nice TT bike with status that reflects the destructive nature of high compression racing machines. This bike has all the hard to find bits. and they are original Triumph bits. not reproduction parts. You will not have to hunt down hard to find TT parts for this bike. Local inspection is welcome and please feel free to contact me with specific questions or if you need specific photos that aren't included in the ad. Any and all shipping will be the responsibility of the winning bidder. I'm happy to help load the motorcycle. it does roll well and everything is secure on the bike. There is no buy it now price. and I will not reveal the very reasonable. reserve. All funds must clear my bank prior to release of the motorcycle or the title. The title is a TN title in my name and up to date. there will be no issues with export. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is expected within 12 hours of the auction's end. unless you make other arrangements with me. I'm happy to work out payment options. as long as you contact me within 12 hours of the auctions end. The motorcycle must be picked up within 3 weeks of the auction's end. On Mar-10-15 at 06:40:01 PDT. seller added the following information:The title is in my name and matches the frame VIN: T120TT DU45858. On Mar-10-15 at 15:31:06 PDT. seller added the following information: I just noticed today that the "DU" is missing from the VIN on the Title. I will go to the DMV at my earliest convenience to see if I can fix the VIN on the title quickly. If not. I may end the auction until I can amend the title or there may be a delay on the delivery of the title. As it is. the title VIN is: "T120TT45858". I will do my best to correct this prior to the end of the auction. I'll update the auction description when I have a timeline on correcting the VIN. I'm hopeful that this is an easy correction that can be made at my local DMV. If the auction runs its course. nbsp;I won't expect payment or pickup until this is resolved. Apologies for any inconvenience. I have added a photo of the existing title in the top photo series.
