Description

Ground Rules: If you have 25 or fewer feedbacks with eBay you must message me (eBay email/message service) and let me know you are going to bid. Just write: “I’m interested in bidding on your bike and I am serious about the bid”. That’s not too tough to do. I’ve been burned on eBay before and eBay could care less about helping a seller as they get their money either way. I treat my buyers the way I would want to be treated and expect that in return. Thanks. This auction is for a 1977 Yamaha XS750 commonly called a “triple”. It is a three cylinder. shaft drive road cruiser and this one has a full Vetter fairing with lower-leg extensions (see photos). In good condition. these are an excellent road bike. There is no title for this motorcycle which would require going thru the DOT to obtain a “Bonded Title”. In some states that is a simple process. In Iowa. it is a royal pain in the butt. I bought this from a seller who bought it at a sale. I know nothing about this bike other than what I am about to tell you. The engine is locked-up. That can be as simple as “soaking” it for a few weeks or a complete tear-down. I don’t know which will be required in this case. The transmission shifts thru the gears and returns to neutral just fine (on the center stand). The gas tank is rusty and has some major dents in it. The brakes are dual (front & rear disc) with two master cylinders and neither front or back work nor does the master cylinder (on handlebar) work. The seat is worn and dry-cracked in places. The tires have good tread but are weather-checked. My guess is that this was driven back into a shed or garage many years ago on some chilly Fall day with every intention of getting it out for the following spring/summer riding season and it never happened. It just sat for years. In Iowa you have to put a bike away in the Fall correctly or you are screwed when you get it out in the Spring. If you fail to get it out altogether. you get a bike like this after a couple of years. Every system in this bike will need to be gone thru and restored. Some plus features of this bike are that it is complete in every way. That’s huge if you want to restore it to it’s classic glory. The triple exhaust manifold pipes and factory muffler are in excellent condition with no dents. holes. rust and clean. clear chrome on all surfaces. Look on-line and try to find a factory exhaust system for one of these bikes. They are impossible to find. The bike is sold “as is” with no warranty or promises other than what I have written above. Payment is to be to received by me in 7 (seven) calendar days of the end of the auction. The only methods of payment I will take are a USPS Money Order (no weird off-brands) or a Certified Check drawn on a major bank (Wells Fargo. U. S. Bank. etc. ) If you win the auction. get payment in the mail the next day and this will happen in the seven day period. If you pick it up within the seven day period you may pay cash. I want the bike gone by 10 (ten) days from the end of the auction. I will help you load it on your truck or I’ll work with a shipper that you select. (Try to avoid U-Ship. I’ve seen some weird things go on with those clowns). Look at the pictures and ask questions. I’ll get right back to you with simple. honest answers to the best of what I can tell you about this bike.
