This superbike has 152 HP from the factory and weighs only 383 lbs dry - which means it will run a 10. 6 in the quarter mile right out of the crate. This was also the first year Yamaha fitted EFI on the R1. This model features suction type fuel injection with a Mitsubishi engine management system and Mikuni 40mm throttle bodies. It starts right up and idles smoothly. The transmission shifts as it should. and brakes appear to have plenty of life left. It does need the internal bar end weights on the right side. I have the bar end. but there's nothing there to screw it into. It also needs a new license plate light if you want to be fully legal. The previous owner just had the tag zip-tied to the undertail so you may want to find a more permanent means to mount the tag. Of course. because of the aftermarket exhaust system (which sounds great) the "check engine" light is on. That could probably be fixed by fiddling with the power commander.
