Description

1973 Yamaha 360 RT3

This is a 1973 Yamaha RT3 Enduro 360 classic bike, hich was Yamaha’s “last year” of "acceptable" big bore enduro RT’s and are very hard to find. When I say the "last year of acceptable" RT's - In 1974 Yamaha came out with a totally re-designed 360 Enduro that used the '72's MX frame, eighed 20 pounds more, ad an ill-designed motor and handled terribly and was just plain ugly. The 1973 and earlier RT's are the 360 Enduro's to have and collect. This bike has been partially restored and is in exceptional condition for being 42 years old, s well as having all of the original parts, xcept for the tires.

The 1973 bikes are the only year with the “Nike swish” on the tank. The bike has matching numbers (RT112976 on both frame and engine) and all the difficult-to-find parts. It’s a beautiful bike and is fresh and tuned for immediate riding enjoyment. It starts on the first kick and runs great. Some people say that it is hard to kick over but that is why it has a decompression valve and also a decal on the gas tank to remember for you to engage it prior to kicking it over. This is what the small lever on the left hand side of the handlebar, ear the clutch lever is for. To see how easy it is to kick over please see this recently shot you tube video below week showing it running great and it idles smoothly.

The bike shows 4111 original miles on the odometer. The bike weighs 280 pounds, as 33 horsepower, an reach 80 mph, as reed valves and a big 21 inch front wheel for much better handling. The Yamaha 360 Enduro's are in high demand from vintage motorcycle aficionados. To put the Yamaha 360’s value into perspective, here was an unrestored 1972 Yamaha 360 R2 Enduro in similar condition (my opinion, y bike is in better condition) with used tires (not brand new Dunlop's) that was on Ebay two weeks ago with 29 bids and sold for $3,600 – see completed EBay item number 221846322784.

The gas tank, il tank, eadlight dome and fork ears have been painted with new decals applied on the gas tank. It has brand new Dunlop Universal tires on the front and back. The rear tire is a Dunlop D803 4.00-18 and the front tire is a Dunlop D803F 2.75-21. These are good tires - not cheap Asian universal tires. The motor was taken apart, nspected and a new oil seal kit installed. It has a brand new sealed battery, s well.

The bike comes with the original Yamaha key, ut the black plastic part of the key is chipped off a little bit – see picture of key with title. Rides great, hifts great, ights/blinkers work and has fresh fuel and oil. The original decompression release valve mechanism was installed by Yamaha and is located in the front of the cylinder barrel, above the exhaust pipe and is covered by a round black rubber boot. There is also an extra hole on the right side of the cylinder head that can accommodate an aftermarket release or that hole can is occupied by a spare spark plug.

Please do not ask me what the reserve price because I will not tell you and it is not fair to other potential buyers. I will tell you however, hat my reserve price is less than what I have into this bike what with the brand new tires, aint, ngine work, ecals - not to mention my time.

The motorcycle will be sold as-is, ith no warranties implied and it comes with a valid Wisconsin title that has been signed, ut, ot dated. I have also taken the motorcycle to California DMV and had the VIN verified and have the completed form, o California residents only have to take the Verification Of Vehicle form and the Wisconsin title to DMV – you will not have to take the bike to DMV – I have already done that for you. See picture of title and form. You don't have to worry about low mileage (under 7500 miles) California emission requirements because they do not apply to any vehicle made before January 1, 978. The bike is located in Southern California between Los Angeles and San Diego.

Please check my Ebay history – I have close to 200 positive feedbacks and it is at 100% satisfaction for a reason. Feel free to read some of the feedback responses, hich include motorcycle sales. Ninety five percent of my Ebay sales are related to mini bikes, otorcycles and/or motorcycle parts. I have been riding, acing, estoring and collecting motorcycles for over 45 years.

I also have several transport contacts and can get this Yamaha transported almost anywhere in the United States for much less that most motorcycle transporters and USHIP. I will also deliver the bike for .50 cents per mile, oth ways, ithing reasonable distance of Southern California. I also have transported motorcycles to Australia and Europe and I have no issues selling to anyone out of the country. I know of several international transporters and I will charge $150 to assist you with the logistics and finding a shipper. This also includes getting the bike to the transporter/logistics, lus fifty cents a mile, oth ways to the shipper. You pay the transporter to get it over the ocean, hich, s around $750 U.S. dollars to both Europe and Australia.

As you can tell from the pictures, his is a great bike to have. Please contact me with any questions or if you would like other pictures. You are welcome and encouraged to start, ide and see this bike in person before the auction ends – just send me a question and I will provide on site viewing/riding details. Please no tire kickers – only serious buyers that really want to buy it and not just say they rode one of these vintage big bore enduro's.

I also have a few motorcycle parts currently listed on EBay.
