1971 Yamaha XS 650: Very original, matching numbers, project bike

Very original. matching numbers XS650 project bike. It has been setting for 15+ years. Motor kicks over with good compression. but it does not run. I do not know the bike's history. so I do not know what it will take to make it run again. It has a new OEM-style seat. but as seen in the photos. it will take a lot of work. Would make a good restoration project for daily use. collection. or museum. Unfortunately. most of these have been converted to street trackers or bobbers. What I can tell about the bike after spending a couple of evenings with it (I'm no expert on these): -Stock left handlebar control broken -Mileage shown in odometer is not accurate -Manual Splice of ignition lines (repaired with solder/shrink tube) -Has compression. kicks but doesn't start -Right coil tested bad -Left coil tested good -Rotor tested good -Gas tank has rust & a dent -Points look okay. but not tested/set -No battery -New Seat -No chain -Fork tubes ~6" over stock length -Wheel chrome in good shape -All parts (except fork tubes) appear to be stock and original Bonded title states it is a 1970. but the (matching) numbers confirm it is a 1971 (xs-1b).
