Description

1988 Cagiva Tamanco 125cc 2-stroke single. I first learned of the Paris Dakar race in the late 80's and fell in love with the Cagiva competition bikes from that era. Some great photos here on a german website. just google Cagiva Dakar. ebay would not let me post the linkWhen I first saw this bike I had to have it. I had never seen a production bike like it. It looks like a mini Dakar racer. I knew the Cagiva 125cc 2stroke single had great performance because I hadridden one of the Mito road bikes before. but I had never seen the 125 in an enduro. After doing a little research there were a few other interesting reasons I had to buy this bike. 1985 Tamburini joins Cagiva. 1986 Cagiva buys Husqvarna. 1988 Cagiva was probably as healthy as a business as they ever would be and this 6 speed 125cc 2 stroke was at the height of its refined performance. Cagiva won numerous world championships on and off road including Valentino Rossi's first Championship in the early 90's. The bike is not perfect. but its really close. Looks like it should be sitting in the Barber Museum. The white color is a pearl metallic. Paint and decals are in great condition. The double front headlight and double rear brake like are too cool. Red hubs. tungsten/bronze colored wheels. along with disk brake covers front and rear. Hand protectors too. Most plastic pieces have the cagiva elephant emblem on them. Front rear blinkers all work as they should. Electric and kick start. Pictures tell the story. Bike had 9 kilometers when I had it received it and has 41 on it now. 25 miles. I have ridden it a couple times on road and it is awesome. Did not push it to hard. but it easily got to 70mph and had great 2 stroke torque. Purchased last winter after meeting another eBay seller. He had imported new in the crate from a closed dealer in Italy. He had it professional assembled. fresh fluids then sold it to me. When I purchased the bike it had no title. I have gone through the pain in the ass process of getting this bike titled. I know have a clean and clear Minnesota title in my name. Bike has fresh license and tabs good through February 2016. I had the opportunity to buy a new 1958 BMW and had to do it. Something has to go. I need the space and the cash. Don't waste my time and I won't waste yours. I have sold dozens of collector and exotic bikes on ebay to sellers all over the world. See my feedback. Ask questions if you have them. Probably one of the only ones in the US and certainly one of the nicest. Please only bid if you have the funds. I reserve the right to cancel any bid I am not comfortable with. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the bike is listed locally too. Buyer responsible for shipping and any and all fees associated with completing transaction. All Sales are final. I have a couple of trusted door to door shippers that I would be glad to recommend.
