Description

1965 Norton Atlas 750cc Slimline Featherbed Motorcycle - Running - Cafe Racer
Bike is in good running condition. Title matches the motor number and I assume the frame as well, ut the powder coating is thick and I didn't want to sand it to metal where the VIN is. The bike has been titled its whole life, tarting in July of 1965. Bought this bike from a gentleman that had it since 1990, r a little before. He performed a light restoration on the bike which included powder coating the frame, tc. I believe the motor was gone through at some point, ut I cannot remember what he told me. The bike hadn't ran in a few years when I got it, nd was running on one cylinder. Traced the problem to the carbs and adjusted them. The carbs may need some fine tuning as I am not an expert on Amals yet. Bike runs fine and starts easily when primed and starts right up when warm. Spark plug wires are new and magneto leads appear to be in good shape. There are some incorrect things on the bike. Carbs have been switched to Concentrics. Rims have been upgraded to aluminum. Rear fender has been replaced with a Harley Sportster fender, s a replacement was not available at the time. Seat has been reupholstered, ut it appears to be the original seat pan. The tank is freshly painted as the one I got with the bike had some filler and was not in the best shape. Inside of the tank is clean. Petcock is new with a new gasket. I mainly went through the bike to get it running and riding. The powder coating is starting to dull as the bike sat outside. Center stand lever looks to have broken off, o it is a little difficult to lower the stand. Not sure if the lights work as battery is dead and the charging system did not bring it up. The wiring on the bike probably needs to be redone as it is just crimp on terminals and there is no shut off switch (just grounding the magneto on the primary cover), ut a weekend of work should fix that. I have the original Monobloc carb bodies, nother battery box cover in better shape, n Smiths amp gauge, nd the horn, ll will be included. All in all this is a great start to a project with most of the hard stuff done. Cool bike for any vintage meet and to cruise.
