1973 AMC AMX 401, auto Pierre Cardin

A rare 1973 AMC AMX with 401,auto Go Pak option,Trans Am Redexterior paintand the rare Pierre Cardin interior. Only one other known to exist with this engine, tranny and exterior color combo. Other options include A/C, P/S, P/DB, tinted glass, Visibility group, front spoiler, and (missing or replaced) factoryAM/FM 4-speaker stereoand 15"x7" Slot style wheels.

The car was driven new until it was hit about 30 years ago. Has 73k original miles and has sat in a virtual time warp for 30 years but parkedoutside. Over the years thieves removed the hood and air cleaner, emblems, door tag, rear spoiler, wheels and a few other things. I have a Javelin hood in not that great of shape that will go with.

The good:A very rare car! The seats areingood shape but faded (Rear bottom seat material is deteriorated in one spot. The headliner backing is deteriorated but the Cardin material is in surprisingly good shape with good color. Very clean car rust wise. only a small spot on the rear left seat pan and a spot on the top left of the roof (looks like someone ground down the paint and left it). Clear title, Dash and panels are in good shape but missing a few interior panels.

The bad: Needs total restoration. Hit hard on the right side and quarter and door need replacing ( I have a door for replacement). The right rear axle shaft is also bent. Not running, missing some parts.

The good again. I do have the rear window glass, rearbumper in pretty good shape, the lower rear valance and the front spoiler

An extremely rare car worthy of restoration.
