2001 Audi TT Roadster/ Convertible

Good first generation Audi TT's are increasingly hard to find. My wife and I looked at upwards of 30 TT's before buying two, his vehicle in Desert Green Pearl and another in Nimbus Grey Pearl. I own a 2001 silver coupe back in Pennsylvania, nd have enjoyed it for 15 years. After retiring, e spend a half year in Burbank and can avoid the somewhat unpleasant winters in PA. I am a bit of a car nut, nd when in Burbank I missed my TT. So we decided to get a roadster here in CA and that motivated us to buy two cars. . .. . .. . .. . ..this 180 hp 5-speed in green, nd a 225 hp 6-speed in grey. I wanted to keep them both, ut it's a little cumbersome with parking limited to 2 cars in the driveway, nd we do have a Eurovan and 01 Boxster.
After looking at a lot of lousy cars (faded paint, ajor scuffs and dings, nattended maintenance) we found 2 good cars. In each instance, e took them to an Audi Certified mechanic and had them thoroughly evaluated, nd attended to any deferred maintenance issues.
The finish on this car is excellent, uggesting it was garaged for much of its life. It has a clear Carfax, o accidents or issues. (I signed up for a 60 day unlimited use Carfax package so we could check each of the cars before journeying to see them).
Most people don't have time to find good cars. We have devoted many days and traveled a couple thousand miles, ut with retirement, e could do so. It has been fun. . .. . .. . ...these are truly great cars and the design is "timeless". Just sitting in the car puts me at peace with the simplicity of the interior, he no-nonsense layout of the instruments and controls, nd the durability of all the materials in that greenhouse. This car has just the right amount of power, ot too much, ut plenty at hand selecting the right gear. The gearbox has short throws and is very smooth. The exhaust note is just right. This car has an incredible Bose sound system, ut I barely turn it on. The exhaust and engine notes provide the music.

Ball Joints and Tie Rod Ends solid
Muffler and catalytic converter good
All 4 shocks good
Timing belt and water pump recently changed.
Spark plugs very good -- no carbon buildup - probably changed 10,000 miles ago
Battery good
A/C blows cold - changed the air conditioner cabin filter
CV boots good -- no leaks
Clutch and Gearbox good
Oil change due in 10,000 miles at 133,000 miles -- use full synthetic
