This is a good car that has been well cared for but needs a little work. Great fun to drive, we've had it for years, it was my compromise with my wife when she argued me out of my Mini Cooper because we needed a four door. It's been garage kept, and never given us much trouble, just maintenance. It was inspected two months ago, and passed fine, but the inspector told us it's ready for timing belts, and it's leaking oil from the timing cover. The leak rapidly became worse, and the two estimates we got range from $850 to over $1000. I have seen posts on the Audi website of people who have done this themselves, but it's too involved for me. We were going to just trade it in, but the dealer only wanted to offer $500 for it. I think someone more mechanically inclined than I am could put a few hundred dollars into parts, and some hours of work, and have a great little car. It holds the road really well, it's great fun in the mountains on twisty roads, and the 5 speed lets you use all the V-6s power. The Quattro system really works, you don't know it's there until it's needed. Good snow car. I'm reluctant to sell it, but I am told that we need the space, so it's up for auction.Condition: Overall condition is very good. The car just passed it's annual Virginia State inspection last month, and a photo of that inspection is posted. The paint is shiny, with no fading and only minor scuffs. The front bumper shroud is separating at the right front corner (see photo), The glass is good. There is a small chip in the front windshield that does not affect visibility. The wheels are good, with only minor wear and the tires have 60-70% tread. The four doors open smoothly, The inner door handles are worn (see photo), The leather on the drivers seat bottom is cracked. The other seats show minimal wear. The sunroof shade has a small piece of plastic missing (see photo) but works correctly and does not leak. The power drivers seat moves correctly, and the heating in both front seats works. The dual zone climate control works correctly, and cools the car quickly. The power options (Windows, doors, mirrors, cruise,) all work smoothly. There are two Audi keys and two remotes, but one does not work. The trunk is immaculate, and the tools and spare tire are present (see photo). The engine bay is clean and the battery is two years old. The motor starts quickly and runs strong. There are no lights on the dash when running. The motor has a MAJOR oil leak, and should be towed to where it is to be worked on. The last time we ran it, oil seeped onto the exhaust and smoked heavily. The oil appears to come from the timing cover. The timing belts were replaced at 96,000 miles and are due to be replaced again. The 5 speed manual transmission shifts correctly and the clutch works smoothly. The shifter is tight, with minimal play. All together this is a well kept vehicle. All maintenance for the past two years has been done on time. Since the dealer was willing to offer us the princely sum of $500, and eBay will charge me $80 to run this auction, I will start this at $580. Please see the photos, they really show the condition of the car.Pickup: Local pickup available or I will meet your shipper. Car isin Norfolk VA.Returns: Please! It's a used car. No returns. No warranty, no guarantees. As-is sale.
