I love this car.
For the last two years, have been the proud owner of this E36 M3 coupe, ut sadly I think that time is coming to an end.
I originally purchased the car here on ebay in the spring of 2013, March, think)
The car comes from the south, nd has never seen winter, he body and underside are completely rust free, nd aside from one or two rock chips in the paint, he body is in outstanding condition.
The car was built up by UUC and Active Autowerks, nd has just about every performance part imaginable installed, hort of a race stripped interior and cage.
Motor/driveline:
-AA Stage 2 Supercharger Kit (FMIC, otorex blower, tc)
-UUC Corsa catless exhaust and headers
-BMW Gruppe (group) N Cams
-Replaced engine with only ~20000 miles on it (now) (From a 97 M3 according to previous owner)
-UUC Lightweight Flywheel
-M5 clutch
-UUC Shortshifter kit
This thing absolutely rips, nd has quite the top end. It also sounds like nothing else on the road, nsane when you are on the throttle, ut just cruising around there is no drone, t all. According to the guy who built it, n a ported intake manifold the car dynoed at 420WHP and on this about 400WHP
Suspension, heels, rakes
-H&R Race Springs
-Koni adjustable shocks
-UUC Swaybarbarian kit
-Poly FCAB bushings, nd some others
-UUC (I think?) upper shock mount reinforcement plates in the rear
-Rotora front BBK
-OZ Racing Ultraleggera wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich g-Force T/A 225/35R18 up front and 245/40R18 in the rear
Grip and handling is what this car is really made for. It's fast in a straight line, o doubt, ut the way this thing handles and turns. To put it very bluntly, his car handles far better than I can drive, nd the turn is is to die for. Sadly, art of the reason I want to sell this beast is that I never have the chance to autocross it or take it to the track, nd really that is what this car was made for. I never want to use a car like this fast on the streets, t's quite simply too much!
Exterior/Interior/Audio:
-Leather Manual Vader seats, black)
-A pillar gauge pod (VDO Boost, EM A/F ratio)
-Center console gauges (Oil pressure, ater Temp, il Temp)
-Custom door card inserts, eal cowhide leather stretched over custom speaker enclosures, ith blue alcantara accents
-Alpine Headunit hooked up to three Hifonics amplifiers.
-Custom Aluminum glove box trim
-Custom false trunk floor, nd sub enclosure (Still has very usable trunk, ut no pass through rear seats)
-Rear decklid spoiler (little lip, ubtle) I do not remember the brand, ut as I recall it's a German part
-Depo clear/smoked corner lights
-Depo smoked rear lights
-Projector headlights with 55W HID system.
The audio system in this thing is amazing. I'm an audio engineer by trade and training, nd this is one of the best sound systems I have heard, p until we are talking about top flight A grade studio mains. The stereo sounds amazing at all volume levels, nd is very tune able. There is plenty of bass without just making the car rattle apart, ut there is also more than enough mids and highs available to fill out the range. Weather you like to listen to NPR (like me most of the time) or blast out the tunes, his thing WILL make you happy. The thing is though, ith how the car sounds, ts a shame to have all this audio gear, ecause you might not want to use it!
This car looks tough, ounds tough, nd has the juice to back it up.
There are a few bad things, s it is still a car from 1996
-The sunroof works great, ut needs a new headliner cover. (just the sunroof panel, he headliner of the cabin is in mint condition)
-Power door locks are a little finicky, will replace the actuators before sale
-Power windows work well, ut people familiar with this generation BMW cars will attest to the fact that as they wear they get... Sensitive?
-The suspension is FIRM, his car is not for the faint of heart when it comes to ride quality. I still find the car comfortable, ecause the seats are great, ut the H&R springs mean you wont be taking smooth cruises on all but the newest of blacktop.
-AC works, ut needs a new compressor as it has been left without a belt for the last several years. I had the Minnetonka BMW dealership charge and test the system (and I still have the belt) when I purchased the car, nd it works, ut they recommended based on the bearing noise that it should be left unhooked until the compressor is replaced. Since this is primarily a 'go' oriented car, nd I don't really need the AC since I drive mostly at night, t remains that way.
-Driver side front lower control arm needs new balljoints, hich means the whole arm needs to be replaced (thanks BMW!) The car drives fine on the loose balljoints, ut it should not be taken to the track until the problem is solved. Its a pretty easy job overall though.
I think that is it! I have sorted out all sorts of little old car things, one through and checked things and man, really have to say that the artists that worked on and built this car knew what they were doing. The door cards look amazing, nd the audio system, y god it's so good (in my professional opinion). I have been in contact with the guy that originally built the car, nd he claimed to have spent somewhere in the 40K range on parts and service on the car, nd I believe it. I originally intended to sell it back o him, ut he isnt in a life position to be buying sports cars, nd I am not in a position where I can wait.
Still though, need the cash, nd I have a hankering to get into old american iron, o it is time to move on, ven though I know I will regret selling it.. I know other car guys will understand.
This car is amazing, nd I am honestly not all that eager or in a hurry to sell it. I do feel that I don't use it enough the way it was intended though. I have had it for about two years, nd in that time I have only put about 4000 miles on it, nd I drive it every chance I get because I love it! Still though, could use the cash, s there are always other new projects on the horizon.
If you have questions, lease, end me a message, r call/text me ANYTIME day or night. 763 area code, our four three 5664.
I look forward to hearing from you,
-Evan
