Please read the following disclosure carefully:This M5 is being sold AS-IS with full disclosure that the secondary air injection passages in the cylinder heads (predominantly the left bank) are clogged with carbon build up. As a result when the car is warming up the passages are not allowing enough fresh air into the exhaust stream which throws code P0491 (Secondary Air Injection System Fault Bank 1). We have visually inspected the inlet passages to the secondary air injection system and we can confirm that carbon build up is substantial, specially on the left bank. If you intend to register this vehicle in an area which requires emissions testing, his problem will need to be address beforehand. Otherwise, his issue does not affect driving performance and is only a matter emissions compliance. The "service engine soon" light is on.
Runs and drives great and is a real pleasure to drive. This is a true drivers car, nd will hold it's value as it is one of the last great M cars.
Upgraded components:
Bilstein Suspension
Engine Condition:
Clean without oil or coolant leaks. Runs strong and pulls hard. All fluids clean and at the appropriate level. The idle is steady and throttle response is crisp.
Drivetrain/Transmission Condition:
Clutch action is smooth and predictable. The clutch does not slip. Gear changes are direct without grinds. No abnormal drivetrain noise.
Suspension/Brakes:
The Bilstein suspension is soft over bumps and firm in corners. At the limit you wish the springs were stiffer, ut then again this suspension works great for around town.
Brakes are strong. Front pads 50% life, ear 70% life.
Exterior:
Excellent overall, ith only minor cosmetic imperfections like road chips and small scratches. Straight body with original panels. Nice glossy paint and good condition trim pieces.
Interior:
Great condition leather seats and steering wheel. All the displays work properly along with the radio/navigation unit. The only imperfection is the passenger door trim which is starting to peel up. Options include: Winter package, nd Cargo net.
Wheels/Tires:
The chrome wheels are very nice and only suffer from very minor curb rash on the passenger side.
The tires have 80% life remaining.
