Description

I'm looking to part with my current hobby car. 1983 320i with the sport package.I bought this about 3 years ago to play around with and am ready to pass it on to another enthusiast of these great, simple BMW classics. After purchase I put another $4500 into this one. As you can see it is in verydecent condition cosmetically, both inside and outside. Yes, it has all kinds of blemishes if you start looking close, but it looks GOOD. Get's compliments all the time. The worst body stuff right now are that each door has a pushed in area just below each window and there is one bad spot on the hood. And yes, this old car has been in a fender bender some time in the past. There is a poor blend in the paint on the passenger side door. The one area of body rust it had was professionally repaired and painted shortly after I bought it (rear right under taillight) Mechanically, in spite of its 209,xxx miles it is extremely reliable and has very good power for a basically stock engine (it has a few performance enhancements). I just drove it on a 400 mile trip and it ran perfectly. You could drive this car for many miles yet, or choose to do an engine swap. Also the car drives straight and true with no serious rattles and not steering wheel shake. I have completed many projects on this car, the list is long. I also have a very comprehensive service history for the car and receipts for my projects. Nearly everything on this car is in good working condition, it comes with some spare parts (including the A/C bits) and with all 5 original BBS rims. The 15" wheels on the car are Rota RBs which I purchased new (and tires) shortly after I got the car in 2013. New custom stereo install is clean, powerful and mostly old school. Here is some of what I did to the car...
-entire cooling system rebuilt/new
-brand new custom performance exhaust installed (custom downpipe, cat delete, 2 1/4", mufflerfrom bimmerforums member)
-brand new lower control arms with polyurethane bushings installed (from bimmerforums member)
-front main seal replaced, injectors cleaned, hoses replaced and engine tuned by an old school Bimmer pro
-new brake/clutch slave cylinder
-new front brakes
-new cap, rotor, plugs and high performance plug wires from bavauto
-new instrument cluster lights and lined cavity with foil
-front bumper tuck
-just in general fixed lots of little things that you won't have to mess with
-every indication is that this has the full sport package from the factory, all the bits and pieces are there.
You could nitpick this car to death if you chose, but the main things I would mention for negatives are... it uses and drips a little oil, has a bad star in the windshield way down in lower driver's side corner, ought to have new front shocks.
ebay wouldn't accept my mileage. But it's 209,785 at this moment. As is often the case, the car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early... no warranties expressed or implied, mileage will change slightly etc. etc.
