Up for sale is my 1987 BMW 325IS. (Parts list below) I picked this up around March as a project vehicle. I replaced every part and fluid in the car with new OE parts if they were available and surprisingly there was about 95% OE parts available. The car was also completed repainted. The paint is not perfect, but very nice for a driver quality car. This car has the E36 M3 brake and hub conversion so it is no longer a 4 lug pattern - now a 5 lug and bigger brake setup since they are from an E36 M3.
I have a complete extra set of SSR Integral A2 wheels (gunmetal color) and 2 other unidentifiable wheels that will come with it. Everything inside the car works as well as the exterior (lights etc.) I took out the radio that was in it because unfortunately it was not the OE radio. The owner placed a cheap JVC radio in there and I thought it looked "trashy" so I added a delete panel. I thought of this car as a driver, aka the ultimate driving machine, so who needs a radio? All speakers do work in the car however! So if you feel the need to add a radio have no doubt that the speakers will work!
I recovered the front seats with new foam and material because if you looked through the pictures you will notice that the original seats, how I got it, were a little "worn". The seats that were in it had the stitch pattern (horizontal) of a M3 instead of the correct vertical stitch pattern for this car. So I came to my friend, eBay and found a member that stitches the material together and sells the complete package with new foam and reupholstered the seats. They came out wonderfully and are very comfortable!
The car has 210K miles on it but it does not run like it has that miles at all. The guy I bought it off of purchased the car from a neighbor of his that raced a BMW M3 and used this car as his daily driver. The motor has had to of had some attention because if it hadn't, it would not run as good as it does. I have put 1,000 miles on it since the completion of the project and have not had one hiccup. In the pictures I included the areas that had rust problems. The bottom of the front fenders and license plate mounting holes. The bottom of the front fenders were repaired with new metal. The license plate mounting holes were repaired with new metal as well. The driver front door stop is not functional at this time. The part itself works but from countless times of opening and closing the door the mounting holes have busted apart so the stop itself is not mounted to the door. It would just need a small piece patches in the door to have this completely functional again.
The previous owner cut off the muffler of the car because either it fell off or he just wanted it off because it sounded "cooler". I did not think it sounded horrible but I wanted it to look stock as much as possible, so I simply extended the original pipes back to the bumper with tips to make it appear stock. It now looks good and retains a nice "rumble" sound. The exhaust will need replaced at some point however. It is an 87 original exhaust with 210K miles on it. You can expect that is not perfect. With the new hangers I added with the pipes and tips it has made it more rigid but it will need replaced down the road but for now it works just fine and does not rattle around.
I know how it goes buying something on eBay and how you could be weary about some things that is why I am trying to lay it all out there for you so there are no surprises! If there are any questions that you may have please do not hesitate to contact me. I will answer any and all questions to the best of my ability. If anyone would like additional pictures of the car before/after the work was done feel free to ask I have plenty and if you are close to my location and would like to come look at it in person that is no problem!
