For sale is a 68,000 mile low production Delphine over Grey 1987 BMW E24 L6 with the legendary 3.5 liter M30B34 engine. In 1987 BMW took the 635csi and created a upscale version called the L6 and covered the car with leather interior and added every luxury they could think of, rear sunshade, cooler box and those Michelin TRX tires.
A friend of mine and a local celebrity has ask me to sell his L6. Its not in collector condition but for less than a $1000 and a little elbow grease it can be brought pretty close to concourse shape.
First things first this car has been garage its entire life. The driver seat has some outer leather wear but beside that the leather inside is perfect. I have been a e24 enthuisusts since 1998 and I have never seen such a nice dash outside of a museum. No sun damage or rips. Every seat function works perfectly. All windows work, All blower fans work and the A/C has been retrofitted to r134. A period correct Sanyo radio has been installed and the antenna, since its been frozen in Seattle, under 32 degrees makes a buzzing sound on its way down, otherwise no issues. The odometer is working with no issues.
The trunk features all the original tools and cloth except for the wire cutter pliers, I have been unable to find a pair. The trunk carpet is mostly flawless minus one stain. The original spare and cover are present.
Outside the paint still shines perfectly, hardly any ware. The minor issues are, 1 inch clear coat on both fenders and a .2 inch paint chip on the passenger fender by the front door and a missing .3 inch trim piece on the bumper cover on the passenger side. All original vins still match, no glass cracks and all original headlights and fog lights are present-sometimes a low beam indicator will come on but the headlight still function. The rear taillights are still perfect as new. There is one accident in 1995 which required replacement of the passenger trx wheel as it was curbed.
Service-this car was never neglected, in the past 4 years it has received,2 transmission flushes, numerous oil changescomplete suspension and shocks overhauloil pan gasketdifferential bushingbrakescoolant flushesa few inspectionsBeyren wheels with new tires, since the car mostly sits I recommend replacing the tires as they have some flat spots.a/c overhauland a full top end engine rebuild just last week at S3Deigns.New valve seals, new valve stems, new factory headgasket and bolts, new water pump, cap and rotor, cleaned fuel injectors, new spark plugs. I had S3Degins here in Seattle completely go over the car to make sure its mechanically as perfect as possible and I wanted to have to motor completely gone through.
In total we have spent over $15,000 dollars in service and maintenance.
This is one of the best well taken care of e24s on the road. This is a no reserve will sell auction. I have no set price but I have done the best to my ability to bring the car to as close as original condition as we can. A third party inspection is gladly welcomed within the Seattle City limits.
Shipping and titling is the buyers responsibility I can help with pick up at the airport or assist with delivery to a trucking company. At the end of the auction a $500 deposit is required and payment by cash, wire or cashiers check is due with 5 business days of the auction.Someone tried to buy this then didn't have the cash and needed financing, please don't purchase unless you have funds or financing available.
