Description

1936 Buick series 61
We have had this car for quite a few years. Over the years we really havent driven in much, nly short drivesaround the neighborhood, ut it has always been good about starting up and running and driving. Its time to make some room in the garage so now she needs a new home. The body on the car is very solid and straight. No serious visible rust issues that I can see. But, he car is old, nd seems to never had a real restoration, nly paint work it seems. So the underside does have the usual surface rust that would be expected. There is a chip or 2 on the front fenders where someone was not careful closing the hoods. Those are the only real issues in the paint. The car was painted a long time ago, would guess over 10 years. It was a good job overall. The bumpers show well but the chrome is not perfect what so ever on them, heyhave the normal slight pitting. The engine runs very smoothly and fires up very easily without much effort. The engine is the 320 cubic inch straight eight with 2 two barrel Carter carburetors. The car really runs good and has good power. The transmission and clutch pedal feel good and goes through all the gears as it should. The engine bay could use some detailing and cleaning to be perfect again, ut its all there to work with. The brakes work, nd will stop the car, ut are not perfect. I only drove the car at slow speeds in our private neighborhood over the years and they were and are fine for that, ut I think they would not be fun for higher speed roads. The interior on this car is really beautiful. Im sure it has all been replaced in the past because it is in too nice of condition to be original. The seats feel great, he headliner is nice and tight with no issues what so ever. The windows work well, nd doors open and close very solid. The trunk seems to have the original shelf and material. The spare tire is there. The windows are all in good shape, ith no cracks or issues. The 2 front vent windows are old and the glue is starting to separate in the glass as all the old glass on these cars do. Not a huge problem, lenty of glass shops these days cut flat glass pretty reasonably.Overall, his is a very solid car. A great candidate for a restoration. Even possibly a promotional, r advertising piece for a company. All the hard to find pieces are here and in great shape. I haven't seen many of these old Buicks that are still in factory form with the original straight 8. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions, will do my best to answer them. I welcome and encourage you to come see the car before you bid!
