1948 Chevrolet Fleetmaster Survivor

1948 Chevrolet Fleetmaster I am the 3rd owner on this car. I have documentation in the form of a 1953 title from the second owner from when he purchased the car from his father’s business. I found the car last year. in storage in an Englewood dirt floor carriage barn. The car was still wearing 1963 plates. It had been stored. out of the sunlight. rain and snow for FIFTY years! New Engine- 1957 235 ci block bored . 030 New Rings. New . 030 pistons on reconditioned rods. Crankshaft reground . 010 mains . 010 rods with new bearings and a rubber oil seal. New oil pump. new crankshaft timing gear. New 54 solid lifter camshaft with aluminum gear. New solid lifters and push rods. 56 oil pan and modified 56 front engine mount. Canister oil filter. Block modified and adapted to new 48 water pump. Original fan. 56 Intake and exhaust manifold. Original 48 rebuilt carb. 56 heads with new valves. guides. umbrella seals. and springs. All new gaskets. Original 48 distributor. new fuel pump. new fuel filter. New freeze/engine galley plugs. New tune up with plug wires. New Kanter Master brake kit- Master cylinder. wheel cylinders. hoses. shoes. New fuel tank and sending unit. Shifter- Chevs of the 40’s Vacuum Assist elimination linkage kit. Tires- New old stock 7. 10 x 15 front and H78-15 rear. tubed and mounted on 1963 15 x 5 chevy truck wheels. repainted and hand striped. The car runs. drives and stops. There are still lots of bugs to work out. but you can see that the car is super solid as a platform for your restoration or rod. The handling is loose over 45 mph. but I have not done anything to the suspension yet. Underneath the car looks only a few years old. Many potential Buyers may want this car for a hot rod builder. and may not like the 6 cylinder engine. The 6 is a hard engine to find anymore and is incredibly expensive to build. For that reason. This auction is for Body/Chassis/ Tranny only. If the buyer want the engine left in. The Engine is available for additional $3000. If the buyer elects. No Engine. I will pull the engine.
