Description

My first car was a 68 Camaro and I was planning on keeping this one. but have decided to go with a different one. I got this car as a basket case in the desert. It is not a numbers matching car and has had rust in the usual places. I have a 68 350 engine available if interested. We replaced two floor panels and the dash. two front panels and had it painted a few years ago. It is starting to bubble in the rear lower quarter panels and if I recall correctly. it had some body filler around the windshield upper section. I would describe the car as pretty "dry" as far as the rust goes. The metal part of the dash has been replaced. The pictures show the bubbling and the trunk is original. This car was originally a manual shift and the clutch pedal is still there. It was a factory 350 car. The tell tale signs for me that it is a real RS SS are the following: the trim on the interior appears to be original; the dented front panel with the RS lights is pictured and included in the deal (you can see the shadow of the license number in the panel); the front brakes are four piston calipers if I recall correctly and were rebuilt by a company in Oregon; it appears to have factory front discs; no a/c or power steering which is indicative of the performance models; the hood was there when I got the car; it had power brakes when I got it;the center radio/heater trim has wood trim plastic. One picture shows the 67 stamp on the door panel and I believe these are the original door panels. The car starts and runs and is drivable. The engine was built by a friend and I would guess has between 100 and 200 miles on it. It is a mild engine with regular heads and an Edelbrock intake and carb. I had glass packs on the headers and the transmission shop removed them. They are in the trunk at the moment because he couldn't get gaskets for them. We put a 700R4 automatic transmission in it and the shop hooked up the kick down cable and lockup wire. I bought the transmission as a rebuilt unit and it has less than a mile on it. It does not have a limited slip or posi rear end. The windshield is new and some of the new parts include a headliner and rocker plates as pictured. I have not done much with the electrical except for cleaning the fuse connections and the electrician connected the alternator. The title for the car is clear and is the old style CA title. I have explained things as best as I recall and make no guarantees whatsoever. I was building this car to take out on the street and drive it hard. I was not building a show piece. As you can see. lots of work has been done and you can add finishing touches such as window trim and door insulation. door panels. grill. etc. On Mar-28-15 at 18:43:06 PDT. seller added the following information:10 Bolt rear end with multi-leaf springs.
