Description

If interested in seeing more photos of this truck. please message me through ebay and I will send you a link to my photobucket album. Ebay seems unwilling to allow me to add a hyperlink. 1950 Chevy half ton short bed. 3100. I bought this truck here in Idaho back in 1999. Since I have owned it. it has always been in climate controlled storage. From what I can tell. this truck has spent all of its life in southern Idaho. This desert climate has been very good to it. and there are only a couple rust issues that need to be addressed. Some of the work thats been done:Entire bed and rear fenders. were removed. sandblasted and primed with self etching primer. then with the current oxide red surface primer. Rebuild master cylinder and wheel cylinders. New brake shoes. springs and hardware. Brakes work as good as the stock brakes can. These are the original huck style brakes. they have not been converted to bendix. Before installing the bed back onto the truck. I removed the front stake pockets and did all of the bodywork to straighten the bedsides out around the pocket holes (see pics). New stake pockets were then spot welded back into place. Replaced the entire wood floor with yellow pine boards and stained black with marine grade epoxy. New hardware and new metal strips painted black. New rear brake lights and brackets. Art Deco era Chevy truck rear bumper in nice original condition. The bad:*The wiring on this truck is only wired enough to run all lights. gauges and charge battery. It is ugly but functional. Will need new wiring harness kit to make a daily driver. *The pass. side rear fender has quite a bit of bondo in it. I would sand it off and redo it or replace it. Not really that bad. but deserves mention. *The pass. side running board is also pretty banged up. I would replace it. *Cancer in both rear cab corners. Not too bad. will need patch panels. See pics. *Slight rust through in a couple places where floorboard meets toe board on drivers side. See pics. *Rear stake pockets have not been worked on yet. They are a bit rough. but are easier to work on than the front stake pockets. *Truck will start and drive. but would not recommend driving home. Should be trailered. *Tires will need replaced. these ones on here are old but at least hold air. The good: *Newer floor mat and fire wall cover. *Aftermarket gauges installed. *Very straight doors. Solid with no rust through. bondo or dents. *New rear emergency brake cables. *New rubber brake lines. *Doors and interior of cab were removed. nbsp; sandblasted. and primed with a self-etching metal primer. Interior of cab and doors were then wet sanded and painted with a flat color matching original. Doors were then rebuilt with new handle return springs. window rubber and felt channeling. and window regulators greased and lubricated. Drivers door needs a new door latch. passengers door opens and shuts perfectly. *Steelies from a 1965 c-10. *Original six-cylinder engine removed and 230 six cylinder put in its place. Motor mounts were custom fabricated and accept the clamshell style mounts. The more modern six-cylinder engine is lighter. and stronger than the 216 or 235. also with the new mounts. nbsp;a short block V-8 could be installed without ease. *Truck comes with three boxes of extra parts. Rearview mirror. interior knobs and switches. driver side door window. and truck literature. This truck in its current state could still be fully restored to original. or customized. Bodywork is about 80% done. and then it would be ready for paint. For any further questions or for more information. please message me through ebay and I will gladly call you or give you my phone number.
