Be sure and visit our friends at the Flight Museum if you find yourself in Dallas, exas. This is one of 4,073 Corvettes produced in 1976 in Flame Red, hich is certainly orange to the eye. Power comes courtesy of the #'s matching original 350 cubic inch L-48 V8, aired with the factory-optioned Muncie M21 4-Speed Manual Transmission. There were only 2,088 Corvette's ordered with the Muncie close-ratio 4-speed manual transmission in '76, ut of 46,558 Corvettes built. The original engine number's are clearly visable. This is a number's matching Corvette.
Open the doors to 1976. The interior showcases factory-optioned Buckskin tan custom/deluxe leather interior. The custom interior option featured leather upholstery along with trim accents and carpeted lower door panels. The dash showcases original gauges throughout. The steering wheel is original and this is a factory-optioned tilt steering column.
The leather seat upholstery is in very good to excellent condition. The console houses the Muncie 4-speed shifter along with the heater/ventilation controls. An aftermarket Sony AM/FM Sirius CD ready stereo head unit has been installed. The speedometer is functional as is the tachometer. The temperature gauge is not working at the moment. Also, he driver's side window has trouble going up and down sometimes. You can raise it to full up position manually. The door panels and door undersides are in very good condition. Further inspection of the exterior will reveal a number of minor paint flaws and a few touch-ups on an otherwise solid original example. There is some paint frazzling near the fuel fill door. The doors and hood line up correctly. The wheels of choice are these polished 15-inch Torque Thrust wheels fitted with Goodyear Eagle GTII rubber all around. 1976 would be the last year the Corvette would wear a Stingray badge. The original Soft-Ray tinted glass is intact throughout this car. The original trim identification plate is intact and legible. This is a Flame Red car (70L) with Buckskin Custom/Deluxe interior (642). The original VIN plate is intact and legible. On closer inspection, ou can clearly see the original engine pad stampings, onfirming this to be the born-with engine of this Corvette. The engine compartment displays solid inner fenders, irewall, nd core support sheetmetal throughout. The spare tire holder looks like it may be fairly new, ut there is no spare. The underbody looks to be in very good condition as well. The frame is original and solid as are the floorboards. The engine and transmission undersides are clean. The suspension is in good condition front to back. This has been a driven car and it shows. We must collect a vehicle inventory tax of .002286% and a small documentary fee of $75.00 on ALL sales.
