Drop the hammer in this bright red 1969 Corvette convertible and things start to happen in a real big hurry. With a numbers-matching 350 cubic inch V8 with a few upgrades and a 4-speed, this rejuvenated Stingray packs a lot of fast fun into its sleek 2-seat body. With not a lot of mileage on the restoration, this Corvette is still very clean and ready to enjoy. You can't do better than bright red, so it got a fresh urethane paint job using a finish called "Madrid Red," which is a bit more burgundy than anything the factory had in mind and definitely a big improvement over its original code 980 Riverside Gold. The fiberglass bodywork remains pretty much as it was in the summer of 1969 when this was the hottest car on the street. The vented hood, the "Coke-bottle" fenders, and the little ducktail spoiler out back all look fantastic, making this the car that dreams are made of. Fit and finish is quite good, but nobody's going to look too carefully after they hear this car's exhaust note and see how it moves. What they will notice is the impressive shine, the brightly chromed bumpers that define the best of the C3 'Vettes, and the guy behind the wheel grinning like an escaped convict. The gorgeous red interior is a great alternative to the more common standard black upholstery or the original code 420 Saddle that it came with. The interior is a combination of old and new, and it has a distinctly upscale look that basic black can't quite capture and when the sun is beating down, the non-black upholstery will do wonders for comfort. It might show some very, very minor wear in the driver's seat cushion, but beyond that it really looks great. The original AM/FM radio has been replaced with a modern AM/FM/iPod head unit that powers an Alpine amplifier and speakers behind the seats, so it really fills the car with sound. The gauges are all in wonderful shape with crisp, bright markings and vivid orange needles, and they look great set into the red dash. There's a nice white convertible top that's there for emergencies, but if you're doing it correctly, you won't need it very often. But this car's real claim to fame is the matching-numbers 350 cubic inch V8 living under the hood. Looking ready to show with lots of bright chrome dress-up, it also delivers a big wallop of horsepower when you crack the throttle. A Holley 4-barrel carburetor on a polished Power Plus intake manifold gives it instant throttle response, while the air cleaner has been dressed up with a reproduction decal, just to keep up appearances. Braided stainless lines always look cool and there's a big radiator up front to keep temps under control without issue. Long-tube headers feed a new dual exhaust system and the Muncie 4-speed manual transmission is more than up to the rigors of channeling the small block's torque to the pavement. It's pretty obvious that someone spent a lot of time detailing the chassis, which shows well and is set up for cruising with bright red brake calipers, new bushings and shocks, and fresh power steering lines. Stock Rally wheels are give it an OEM look and wear 245/60/15 BFGoodrich radials. It's pretty, it's comfortable, and boy does it run well! And if pedigrees are important, this three-owner Corvette comes with a ton of paperwork, fresh parts, and manuals, so it's a smart investment, too. Call today!
