Description

This is likely the most original 1952 chevy pickup you will ever see. It still has the six volt system, riginal wheels, ubcaps--and it all. The Texas gentleman from whom I bought it related the following history. It was used by a farmer in the Dakotas for many years, nd then it sat on the farm for a couple of decades, hen a gentleman up there saw it and started restoration to get it running. It was then purchased by the Texas gentleman who took it there andimproved it but did not put it on the road. I then bought it and brought it up to Oregon where I had my mechanic get it roadworthy and I have driven it about town the lastyear.

THE GOOD: Cab is unmolested and probably the most original you will ever find. Only veryminor rust on the cab. Still has the original oil filter, ngine crank, heels and hubcaps. Dashis very original with no added knobs etc.All the engine component parts appear original. The engine is very strong. It hasbeen rebuilt and it purrs strong. Transmission is three on the tree and works well without flaws. The brakes and emergency brake are very strong--stops surprisingly well for that old a vehicle. The seat has been nicely reupholstered. The original instruments work except for the temperature gauge.

THE BAD: My mechanic got it roadworthy and I have driven it minimally around town, ut I have found that if you let it sit, t can be a bit difficult to get it started., arburetor can be a bit finicky.Youhave to fiddle with the choke. Recently it has been even more finicky with some stalling. And I notice that there is some fuel leading from the bottom of the carburetor when it is running. As I have already noted, am not a mechanic and do not know much about carburators, o you or your mechanic would need to look into this. I suspect a rebuild of the carb is in order. But I think this should be checked out before driving it. I would not recommend thistruck for someone who is unfamiliar with vintage cars and just wants transportation. It is more for someone interested in putting a little time and effort in getting this very original classic back to its original condition. Since it is so original, would personally prefer that it be restored--but of course, t would be a great candidate for a rat rod if that is your preference. The truck is being sold without warranty. It is being sold with no reserve so you may get it for a very good price.I need the space soon for a new purchase. Shipping isthe buyer's responsibility.
