Description

Tri-Five fans, on't despair, here are still some very nice, rivable Chevys out there looking for new homes. Case in point? This handsome 1955 Chevrolet 210 2-door post coupe, ith a very nice paint job, warmed-over 283 under the hood, nd an overdrive transmission that turns it into the go-to machine for road trips. A great driver that will fit in at any local show, his one probably won't last long.A lot of hobbyists think the 1955 Chevys are the best of the bunch, ith the purest, east finicky design, nd it's pretty hard to dispute that claim looking at this 210. The paint job is a few years old, ut it was done to a good standard and uses the original break points to separate the white pearl and burgundy colors. Built to drive, here are no worries about stone chips or dirt on a $20,000 paint job, nd it looks great under all but the most intense scrutiny. The burgundy sections are vivid and bold, ith just enough metallic in it to make you want to touch it, nd the pearl white just pops of the sheetmetal. All the original trim was removed, olished, nd reinstalled once the paint was dry, nd preserves the timeless look of this '55. California 1-piece bumpers have been rechromed, he grille is in very good condition, nd the windows have that perfect Soft-Ray tint that always works well on '50s cars. It shows a few signs of use, ut that only proves that this one runs so well you won't be able to stay out of the driver's seat.Inside, he two-tone interior sticks to the basics, nd looks period correct in the 210 body shell. Burgundy and white vinyl covers both the front and back seats, nd it is in very good condition with no splits or tears, nd the foam underneath is firm, aking this a comfortable place to spend a Sunday afternoon. The door panels look right, ncluding the original hardware and armrest, nd the lower sections match the carpets almost exactly. They retained the original dash but it's now filled with a custom set of Auto Meter dials in a special panel made just for this application and there's a column-mounted Sunpro tach for that old-school vibe. You'll note there are now four detents on the column shifter and A/C has been very discreetly added under the dash where it stays out of sight. Entertainment comes from a digital AM/FM/iPod stereo, ut you'll probably enjoy the sound of the strong-running small block even more. The trunk has been finished to stock specs with a rubber mat and even a space-saver spare in the original well. The engine is a sweet-running 283 cubic inch V8 with a few aftermarket speed parts and enough flash to make it worth opening the hood at the local cruise night. An Edelbrock carb and performance intake handle the fuel mixture, hile long-tube headers dump into a custom dual exhaust system that looks brand new. A 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission is the right transmission for a car like this, nd it drives the original rear end, hich has been stuffed with easy-cruising 3.08 gears. The front brakes are now vented discs, hich is a big safety upgrade, nd it sits on flashy Torque Thrust wheels and fat BFGoodrich T/A radials. Finished, ully sorted drivers don't get much more appealing that this 210. There's no denying the appeal of the '55 shape, nd when they're ready to roll like this one is, hey make for a very appealing package. Call today!
