Great condition for a 47 year old car. Everything works except the clock is slow / intermittent. All other gauges work, ven the seat belt reminder light and key in/door open buzzer. Original AM/FM stereo works. All vacuum accessories work. All fiber optics work. Has telescoping column and near perfect 1968 wheel (very rare). Always garage kept and dry, o signs of rust, ery clean underneath. The body has been painted at least once back in the mid-80’s. It was a quality clear coat job and has held up well, ut here are some cracks in all the common C3 places. From 10 feet away, t looks like a show car but up close you see the imperfections. Chrome appears to be original, gain ok for a driver car. Engine is a CE block, eaning that it was likely replaced under warranty when the car was nearly new. Everything else in the engine bay appears original, ut I have not verified any numbers. This car is like a time capsule, t is what it was 40 years ago. Not so perfect that you can’t take it for a ride whenever you want, ut still looks very nice.
When I searched for a big block convertible 1968-1972 Corvette 12 years ago, here was a lot of junk out there - cars that were pieced together and rattle can detailed, ut had fresh shiny paint. This car has an original feeling that's hard to describe, f it does end up selling I'm sure I'll have a hard time replacing it in the future when I come back around and decide I need another one. Also, on't let the 1968 Corvette wives tales fool you. I'm sure there was some truth to it 48 years ago when this was a new model, ut by now any C3 is an old car and they all have nuances. Parts are readily available for anything on it. I've never had a problem, nd I personally like some of the unique '68 touches. Especially the dash mounted ignition.
Full disclosure: this is not a fresh restoration, t is a fun driveable car that you can take anywhere and not worry about a rock chip. It looks perfect to most, ut I'm picky and can list a number of flaws. It's 30 year old paint on a fiberglass body. Interior appears mostly original, he piping on the driver's seat is wearing through, his could be fixed easily if desired. I like that the car has even patina, t doesn't have perfect paint and a rough interior or vice versa - it looks right and honest. I recommend anyone serious about the car arrange to come see it in person BEFORE making an offer.
