Aesthetically. many enthusiasts believe the '71 Chevelle introduced a host of excellent refinements which transformed the 'good' design of the '70 Chevelle into something 'great'. At the front of the car. a black. Super Sport exclusive grille centers a pristine. white inlayed "SS" emblem between correct T3 headlights. clear. chrome trimmed parking lights and a showroom fresh body-width chrome bumper. Behind that grille. an aggressive hood is complete with correct stainless hood pins and is branded with "LSX" scripts. The hood leads the eye toward correct soft ray tinted glass that is capped by a gorgeous white top and framed by pristine stainless trim. At the bottom of that like-new glass. body-matched sport mirrors and traditional chrome GM door handles hang above new stainless wheel well trim; and prominent "SS" fender emblems stand out like skid marks on a sun bleached blacktop. At the back of the car. a stylish. body-width chrome bumper integrates familiar round Chevrolet tail lights at the sides of a fourth white inlayed "SS" emblem. In front of the engine is an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans capable of keeping the potent engine cool regardless of how bad traffic gets. Under the Chevelle is just as impressive as the rest of the build. Take a glance and you'll see that bolted to the potent LS1 is a hydraulic clutch and a Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission that sends plenty of power down the driveshaft to a 12-bolt equipped with 4. 10 posi differential. The chassis and suspension are just the way they left the factory except for the fact the underside has been painted to match the exterior. The only addition to the suspension was the front and rear anti-sway bars that were added during the extensive frame-off build. Spent gasses enter the true dual exhausts that run the length of the underside and exits out chrome tips to make a muscle car era worthy sound. Stopping power comes courtesy of 4-wheel power disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors. In front of those brakes 18" and 20" Billet Specialties rims have been wrapped in Sumitomo rubber. Featuring a host of fresh 1971 interior components. this coupe's crisp. white cockpit is both inviting and unique. Its slick bucket and bench combo is firm to the touch and shows no signs of wear at all.
