Description

Up for auction is a 1957 Chevy 2 door hard top. I just acquired this car in the past few weeks but since I dug into the family vacation fund without clearing it with my wife. I need to sell ASAP. I am in the dog house and need to get out. Hence. I have placed a low reserve on this vehicle to make it move fast. My plan was to make a rat rod but my marriage is more important to me than a cool ride. (and yes she is that angry)Since I just got it. I do not know much about it but I will list what I do know or have been told by the prior owner. It has a 350 V8 which I was told came from a "79 El Camino and was redone". Don't know how long ago it was redone or how many miles are on it. Mileage is unknown. It starts easily and sounds great. Has headers and dual exhaust. I think it is a 3 inch exhaust (not sure) Nice and loud. Prior owner also stated it has a 350 turbo automatic transmission (again. not sure don't know much about transmissions). It has power brakes and the front brakes are disk brakes and the rear are drum brakes. The brakes on the car currently do not work. The e-brake does not work either. Hence. I have not had the chance to drive it. It has manual steering. I think someone had the car set up as a stick shift at some point because it still has a clutch pedal. The car is currently an automatic. I noticed the engine needs a fan and an air cleaner. The side rear windows come with the car but are not currently installed. I believe the needed regulators are with the parts in the trunk (see picture) The driver side door window needs to be replaced. A set of new trunk lid springs comes with the car. currently not installed. The rear trunk lid hinges and the panel from the rear window to the trunk lid appear to be new. It is missing most of the interior. The seats are there. Most of the exterior trim/moldings are present. (see pictures) It comes with tons of extra parts. I counted no less than 5 sets of extra tail lights and as many door handles. You could sell the extras if you were inclined. There may be other parts missing than what I had listed. I only pointed out what I had noticed. I have done nothing to the car. You will be receiving it exactly how I had purchased it. I only waited long enough to get the title back from the State in my name in order to sell. I feel the condition of this car would make a better rat rod or gasser than a restored vehicle. But then again. I think all parts for these cars are available in the reproduction parts market. These 2 door hard tops are becoming harder to find in an unrestored condition. They are very few and far between. If you have any questions or require further pictures of something please contact me prior to bidding. I want the winning bidder to be 100% confident in what they are purchasing. Basically. if you are not sure. please do not bid. I need this car sold and gone to make my wife happy again. Happy wife happy life!!Below is some boiler plate stuff I pulled from other car adds on Ebay that sounded reasonable to include. Buyer to pay any and all shipping costs. All inspections of vehicle must be done prior to end of auction. all sales are final. Seller reserves the right to reject bidders with negative feedback. Car is being sold locally so seller reserves the right to end the auction early. This vehicle is being sold as is. there is with no warranty. expressed. written or implied.
