This is what I've done to the car:
Mobil 1 TBT 5W-40
Brake Fluid - NOV 2012
"C" Service - all filters and fluids
Rear Differential Fluid
Replaced all broken yellow vacuum lines (yellow with black stripe to reservoir & yellow to power locks) FEB 2013
R-34 Conversion 25APR2013
This was the write up that was posted when I bought it in 2012:
"1983 Mercedes Benz 240D .. Absolutely pristine, ne of the best anywhere. 64,500 miles with most of that being accumulated by the "little old lady" original owner in San Jose, A. The car made its' way east through her estate to her son in Virginia. Repair tickets show 34k miles in 1991 in San Jose and 54k miles in 2003 in Virginia. The son owned the car as late as 2008 (60k) when it fell into the hands of a series of collectors. I have detailed every inch of this car from front to back, ncluding a comprehensive detailing of the engine compartment, oor ways, nd the trunk. The car is in unbelievable condition for its age, testament to how well these cars were built by Mercedes back then. The interior beige MB Tex is in perfect condition and I put new OEM plush floor mats in recently. The son had the car serviced at Import Autohaus Limited in Midlothian, A. The owner I bought it from had the car regularly serviced by an experienced MB mechanic and said that he always told the mechanic to "do whatever it needs". I've just thoroughly enjoyed driving this masterpiece around town on sunny days and marveling at how well made these cars were (I owned a 1982 240D many years ago and my daughter took it to college). I have most of the original owners documents, ncluding the 1983 Owner's Service and Warranty Policy reflecting delivery by Smythe European in San Jose, A, n 4/16/83."
This is by far the nicest W123 I've seen. I have owned 5 and worked on them for over 10 years now. I would keep it if it had a manual transmission.
