1970 Challenger rt/se 440 six pack 4 speedThis is a real v-code 4 speed with all the drivetrain and body numbers matching. With only 135 ever produced how many could still be left especially matching numbers and with all the right documentation? The rt/se was a one year only option and most people bought these cars for the creature comforts they possessed and not usually for performance. To find one like this one which is an original California car with all of it's original sheet metal is almost impossible. When I purchased this challenger I flew to Phoenix Arizona and drove it home (St Louis Missouri). The only issue I had was towards the end of the trip when I had trouble getting into 4th gear. The car performed flawlessly (except for the 4th gear issue) and I would have no problem doing it again. The engine ran smooth with no weird noises or knocks. In a 1500 mile trip it only used a 1/2 quart of oil. The tranny and the 354 dana were also quiet with no noises or howls. This car drives straight and true even with bias ply tires. The 4th gear problem was in the shifting linkage and has since been fixed. One of the best attributes of this challenger is the body and paint. You would be hard pressed to find one with flatter straighter body panels and the paint on this car is beautiful with a deep glossy shine with only a few minor imperfections to small to even photograph. The doors open and close as they should with no sags or clunks as most e-bodys do. The panel fit and alignment is better then factory and all gaps are consistent. This challenger was an original factory undercoated car with no rust so there was no need to restore and the bottom remains in it's factory original condition. I believe that this car has had only one repaint from new. The interior is crisp and nice with new carpeting and leather seat covers. The dash pad door panels and headliner I believe to be original to car and are in very nice condition. The instrument panel and gauges are also very clean and crisp and all seem to be working with the exception of clock. The windows roll up and down as they should and the front windows mate well to the rear quarter windows. The glass is all in very nice condition. All in all this is a very nice car that can be driven anywhere. While it is not a trailer queen it is a very nice restoration that should do well at local car shows. You can go to mopar events with the assurance you will place well and be noticed because there simply are not hardly any of these left especially in this condition. I have sold quite a few cars over the years thru e bay and value my feed back highly. I will honestly answer any questions you might have and will provide any pictures you might need to make your decision. I strongly recommend any potential buyers to come and see this car for themselves or send their agent. I would be glad to pick up anybody from the St Louis airport. If you have any questions or offers 636 219 7298 Thanks BillThis challenger is being sold where is as is with no warranties written expressed or implied. This car is being advertised locally and I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. I will store this car for up to 3 weeks for the winning bidder unless previously arranged.
