Please, lease read the entire listing. The answer is probably there, answered about 500 questions the last time I listed this and over half were completely covered in the description.
Please don’t hit the buy it now unless you are going to buy the car. Don’t end my auction then flake out on me.
This is a 94 Ferrari 348 Spider CLEAN TITLE project car. There were only about 1100 348 spiders ever built so this thing deserves to be rebuilt. There were more F40s built (1299) then there were 348 Spiders. This car suffered an interior fire that looked like it started in the dash and burned the interior pretty completely. Once I cleared away all the derby there was still a lot of unburnt carpet and all the insulation under the carpet was undamaged in the engine bay the deck lid insulation and stuff melted and dripped all over the engine. The upper wiring and items like the MAFs shown some melting from heat coming from above. Honestly it's a pretty straight forward build.
This car shows a minor accident related to the fire on most of the online title check services, he title have never been branded by any state. When I bought the car it had passed through a couple people but I received the original MA title that was issued before the fire and signed over. I sent this title in and received my MT title. Whatever the deal was with the original owner and his insurance situation I don’t know but it appears there was no payout for the car and or the damage wasn’t bad enough to total. The owner before me took the driver’s door and passenger side strakes along with both headlight buckets for his own project. I have since bought a new dr. door and pass side strakes as you can see in the pictures they are black and I bought a red engine cover.
It would be near impossible to make a list of every single little thing this car needs to be completely finished but I will do my best to first give a comprehensive list of what is here and then as much as I can think of that is not.
What is here.. The main chassis in great shape. The build plate and all stickers and the vin sticker on the driver door jam are all there and in good shape. Never wrecked or bent up so that’s a big plus, ust needs a little sanding and repainting of the chassis black here and there. (mostly dash area) I started some re seam sealing and coating in the trunk area and rear firewall area. The right quarter panel has a dent that needs popped out from a fireman prying on the deck lid. Very good rear bumper is included. Good engine cover/rear deck lid is included, oth complete door shells- driver’s door is just the shell, assenger door has some hardware and the untested window lift, oth rockers, oth front fenders, ront filler panel, nd front bumper are all included. Some parts need minor body work. The front bumper needs a bit more attention as it is cracked up pretty good in the passenger corner as seen in the pictures.
The only missing body parts would be the 2 door mirrors, he front bonnet, nd the 2 headlight buckets.
All the suspension is present and in good working order. All control arms, ubs, hocks, otors and brake calipers. It is rolling on a set of 360 star fish rims is OK shape.
All major drivetrain components are there Engine complete from the throttle bodies to the cat converters. (No Muffler) I would do a major service on the engine of course. I’m sure if you are doing a build like this you are no doubt planning to service the engine. If the timing belt happened to be degraded by time or heat the results of it breaking would be catastrophic. The transmission is present, s are the axles. All radiators, oolers, ondensers and fans etc. are there and undisturbed. Fuel tank is there.
I have the convertible top frame that folds and unfolds as it should, ut it will need all new latching hardware and of course the canvas.
I will include the clutch and brake pedal box with the clutch and brake master cylinders as pictured. I assume the master cylinders are good or can be rebuilt.
Major things that are not present, ody wise as mentioned.. No door mirrors, ront hood or headlight buckets. There are no fiberglass wheel wells.
There are no tail lights or rear grill, t WILL include the front fog/turn signal lights and also the front grill trim and grill.
Some items missing from the engine area are, he muffler, he MAF sensors and the rubber intake hoses they hook to, he throttle position sensors, he charcoal canister, ome of the EGR lines and possibly several other small items.
The ENTIRE cars wiring is GONE, O wiring and no ECUs or fuse boxes.
There are no air con parts in the dash area, o heater core, r evaporator, an or the housing as you can see in the pictures. I have none of that. There is no abs pump or parts.
There is absolutely no interior, one. No steering column, o dash, arpet, oor panels, eats, rim, eather stripping. Etc. etc.
There is no glass, o door windows or windshield.
I’ve personally dismantled two 348s and here are some prices of what is included that I have myself sold these parts for in the last 18 months.
Complete Engine: I have an offer right now of $8000 for this engine, /font>
Transmission: I have an offer right now of $5500 for this transmission.
Brake cilipers and rotors: $800
All A arms, ubs, way bars etc: $2000+
Rear bumper: $1000
Door shells complete W/ strake panels: $700 EA. $1400
Rocker panels: $400 for the pair
Front Fenders: $900 EA $1800
Front filler panel: $500
Front bumper: rough ??
Pedal box w/ master cylinders: $900
Front fog lights with trim pieces: $1200
Front grill: $500
Ferrari 360 starfish rims: $1000
These are all lower numbers then I actually got but add up to $25,000 worth of parts here NOT INCLUDING a clean title chassis.
If I was to rebuild it I was planning to just buy a good wrecked/rearended one off Copart or IAAI and that would give you 95% of the part needed. You can buy them through a broker like erepairables or abetterbid. There are usually 2 or 3 a year and the last 3 I have watched went for 20-22K and two of them were actually spiders. I should have bought one... but I've bought a couple 360s and dismantled them while this sat in the corner. Anyway then if you bought a whole car you can take the parts you need and sell the rest, aving and engine and trans, rakes, tc to sell you can recoup most of your money from buying the donor and have most of the parts you need for a few thousand bucks. Most of the parts are interchangeable with any 348 and the spider top latch parts, eather strip, tc is the same as the 355 so that is readily available. I think putting it together one piece at a time as opposed to buying a donor car with cost a lot more but you could spread that cost over years if you wanted and wait for good deals on parts.
I think I've given a pretty good description of the car. Please study the pictures and ask anything you want to know. I want a completely open and honest deal. The ONLY reason I'm not going forward with this build myself is that I stumbled across a Lamborghini Diablo project car which is my dream car.
Please only bid if you are serious and can pay to play. I've got a good chunk of money invested in this car but it is worth it. I WILL NOT break it up. I hope it gets rebuilt. Bid to win don't miss out and be kicking yourself later.
$1000 down due via PayPal at the end of the auction. The rest can be wire transfer. I can arrange shipping, ut you will pay shipping costs. Thanks for looking.
