After building several street rods. this was a five year long attempt to build my version of the "Ultimate Show Truck" a '40 Ford street rod pickup. With the help of many talented friends. I am pleased to say. it resulted in what you see. a NSRA T-shirt car. a Goodguy's "Coolest" pick. a Portland Roadster show Best of Class (Radical Custom Street rod pickup) winner. a Napa calendar car. a display case full of trophies and what I thought was the best. the comment from the "George Barris" "Pretty darn cool truck. guy!" The drive train is pretty straight forward. a blueprinted 355 Chevy small block. built 350 Turbo. a "Fatman" tubular independent front end with coil overs. rack and pinion. power steering. power disc brakes. A parallel sprung 3:50 Ford 9" rear with sway bar and power rear disc brakes. all on Weld" billet wheels. The real labor of love (and expense) was in all of the all steel body modifications. Shaved front bumper. custom built grille center. a peaked and extended sides hood (for a flush fit). filled cowl. 3" chopped windshield with v-butted glass. Carson lift off padded top (fits into bed). covering an integrated roll bar. suicide. hard top. power window. doors. 10 1/2" extended cab. all custom sculptured tweed interior (look close at the designs). milled aluminum "Dakota Digital" dash. tilt wheel. nbsp; remote opening doors. bed cover and gas filler door. side opening metal padded bed cover. over a totally hand fabricated. tubbed. (with hidden lower tool/battery boxes). bed with modified passenger car rear fenders. also hand fabricated 8 light rear flush mounted tail light over a frenched rear rolled pan. I didn't want it to be obvious but I think ever panel was modified one way or another on this truck. All topped out with super body work with a PPG Royal Twilight Pearl paint with "Asphalt" flamed graphics. I am sure there are more things I have left out. With five years of constant work and 25 years of money. this truck has more than met all of my expectations. Always the big question. what's wrong with it and why are you selling it? I never put any tunes in it. (even on several smooth riding state wide crossings). I preferred to listen to FM V-8 and I never charged up the Vintage Air (R-12). when it was "cooler" to take the top off. Basically it is a great custom pickup with more money in it than what I paid for my house. But my 7 car garage is too full and life is too short. I still have. I hope. at least one or more builds left in me (a Air Ride. custom '54 Studebaker HT with a built flathead six and a 5-speed that needs to be finished). I am putting all of my time and efforts into new projects. This is too great of a ride to be left just setting in my garage. Someone needs to be driving and showing this truck. I never entered a car show I didn't win something with it and was disappointed if it was not another "Best of Show". As usual. "As is. where is" warranty. I didn't build this to sell. so I didn't take any short cuts on quality. If I can be of help with any additional answers to questions. help setting up the shipping. tc. please feel free to e-mail or give me a call (509) 467-8773 I might consider an interesting part trade. Thanks for looking. Dave
