Description

Very nice. very solid 1926 "Improved Ford" Model T. This was the first year of "all steel" body construction. The only wood is in the roof opening covered by top material outside and wool headliner inside. This has the correct larger rear drum brakes. and bigger transmission brake drum. This car was completely restored and painted through a professional body shop. The body is as solid as you'll find. It was hung in a barn for years with the nose down so no water could collect and rot the body out. It's a solid orginal body. The doors fit and close perfect. New woods strips in the roof. Wool interior done professionally by Roy Tucker. Engine completely rebuilt in 2006 down to the bare engine block. Very few miles on engine in the last nine years. Drivetrain solid. Sheetmetal is great. Paint is great. The engine is tight and starts on compression hours after turning it off. This is a stock and standard Model T Ford for the year 1926. Very few things have been altered from what one would find on the showroom floor in 1926. There are a couple sratches on cowl. where the hood was lifted and rubbed accidentally. There is a slight rub on the passenger side fender and a scratch on the drivers side fender as pictured. There is also a small ding in the rear body panel below the window as pictured. The steering column has pins in the steering gear box that have some slop. I drive it this way. but the steering wheel has some play. Easy enough fix. That hand lever quadrant has some teeth that are worn as well. Not enough concern for me to replace quadrant. but you may want to. The issues I mentioned have new replacement parts readily available through any model t dealer for short money. I mention it as good faith representation of the car. it's not a big enough deal or problem that I worried enough to fix it. Tires are in great shape. Magneto runs awesome. Headlights work both high and low beams. Has tail light and stop light that works as well. Windshield opens up for nice breeze. Nickel radiator shell and headlight rims. My family enjoys this car and we use it for parades. ice cream runs. and fall foliage tours. If the snow and salt holds off. we go see Christmas lights in this. The car is very warm in the winter inside. Nice car all around. The front side windows open and close fine. The rear windows crank open and close. One of the rear windows has a missing tooth in the crank gear and at a certain point needs a little coaxing back up by gently pulling the glass until the gears in the window crank mechanism catch. They do crank up and down. but one has a little 'dead spot' if you hit it just right.
