The 289 engine has a much different personality than when it left the Ford factory. It was bored to accommodate oversized pistons and the heads were polished and ported. The valves from general motors were fitted and hardened seats were installed. The crankshaft was ground to accommodate new bearings. APBM11003 was installed for optimal lift and the roller rockers run smoothly and the engine was balanced by an expert. All components normally bolted to the engine were replaced with new ones. The ideal companion for this energetic little engine is the rebuilt c/4. This transmission is equipped with heavy duty clutchs and shafts. A proper shift kit was installed to improve 2-3 shifting. The exhaust system is set up to mimic the Shelby tri-y dual Flomaster 50s in a balanced configuration. In addition the upgraded interior includes bucket seats of the correct year and a very hard to find center console as well. The Auburn rear with it's 3:55 gears moves all this smoothly down the highway. The convertible top is fiully functionable as it was replaced at the time of restoration. Sway bars were installed and power steering cyloinder was rebuilt. The huge tires P245/60R15 BF GOODRICH are tastfully matched to the American Racing wheels with spinners. There has a very nice. custom fit car cover that will be sold with the car. In addition to all this ia a brand new in the box Eaton supercharger that will be sold with the car. .
