FULL DESCRIPTION BELOW PICTURES!! A BLAST FROM THE PAST! As FORD is currently celebrating their 50th Anniversary of the 1965 Ford Mustang with an all new 2015 Ford Mustang. you can now own the very car that they are celebrating! This is nearly all an original 1965 Ford Mustang hard top coupe! This beautiful 1965 Ford Mustang has been in the same family since new. It was handed down from the original owner to their daughter. With a very heavy heart the time has come that she needs to part with it. She hopes it will go to someone who will appreciate the history and treasure it as it deserves to be treasured. Her father the original owner refers to this car as a "Transitional 1964 1/2" due to few reasons. First the production date is August 25th 1964. Just days after the last "official" 1964 1/2 rolled off the line. With that said Ford clearly had some parts that were exclusive to the 1964 1/2 left to use and just a few of these Mustangs were graced with those items. Those items being (which came on this car originally) the beveled headlamps. unfinished hood edge. the letter "A" on the air vent knob and the black painted hood hinges. All of which are obvious signs of early production. This car is nearly all original with all original body panels. stainless and chrome trim. all original glass. most of the original interior. This car still has the original numbers matching motor 289 V8 2bbl. C4 Transmission was replaced with a rebuilt C4 and the original the owner has in a crate along with all the other original parts including hoses. belts. clamps etc. that will come with the sale of this car. In mid 1970's the father chose to have the car repainted in original color of Silver Smoke Gray. This car has never been in an accident it is solid from ground up. It's spent most of it's life in Huntsville Alabama until the late 90's when came up here to the daughter. Who has stored it in a garage and drove it sparingly. Only rain free days. 50. 03 miles show on odometer however we know it's been turned over. Does not smoke. does not tick. does not knock. Motor runs excellent. Brand new battery just added. Interior for the most part is 100% original. The carpet was just replaced as were the door sills and at some point the headliner was as well due to the southern hot sun. Which also unfortunately took it's toll on the original dash pad as shown in the pictures. The upside to the warm sun it did preserve the oh so precious sheet metal. The vinyl seats do show some wear however the seating area looks to be in excellent shape for it's age. All lights and components work as they should. Oil was changed regularly. Very well maintained. As you can see from the pictures cosmetically the exterior of the car does have several paint chips and a few dings. Some call it the "patina" look of time passed. However. for it to be show quality it needs to be re-painted. Either decision you make you have a solid near original very early production 1965 Ford Mustang classic car!! With over 125 pictures showing you all the details of this car including the super solid underside. Floor pans and doors are amazingly solid. Almost like they were off the line.
