Description

CONTACT JEFF AT 570 977 0741. Up for sale and your consideration is an absolutely stunning 1939 Ford Deluxe Convertible Coupe with a rumble seat. This was the very last year for a Ford Rumble Seat Car. This car has received a full frame off restoration and was built as a traditional hot rod to the owner's liking. This is an extremely rare and extremely desirable vehicle that pretty much speaks for itself. No sales pitch needed on a vehicle of this stature. The high quality restoration work was professionally performed by Grey Hills Restorations in Blairstown. NJ. The exact age of the restoration is unknown as the owner is in a rest home. This is an Estate car purchased through his attorney. The Power of attorney form accompanies the clean New Jersey title that I have in hand for this car. The title shows actual mileage and 1 owner as well. It appears the car has been driven only 3643 miles since it's frame off restoration based on the speedometer. My summary of this vehicle is based solely on a very thorough physical inspection as well as a servicing and detailing of the car. since the owner is not available for any information. Please take the time to look over all 24 photos that I have listed here on the auction. I have 133 photos available of this car should any prospective buyer want them. Just call and ask for them. I also welcome and encourage the opportunity to show this spectacular car to any prospective buyer in person by appointment only. This way you can answer any and all questions that you may have as to the beautiful condition and solid integrity of this very rare classic. BODY:The ALL STEEL BODY is laser straight and is painted a dark maroon/black cherry color. An old can of touch up paint from the supplier lists the color as Coach Maroon and has the code on the label. It is dated 12/9/1999. so that is my best guess as to when the car was restored. A few minor flaws can be found upon close inspection. but as you can see in the photos. the paint is like glass. A few nice upgrades were added such as working spot lights. fog lights. and back up lights. Spot light and fog lights have the Ford insignia on them. Turn signals are built into the headlights. All windows are new and glass is tinted. Side marker lights work with turn signals. Rumble seat steps look new. Rumble seat operates as it is supposed to. Dual mirrors add to the Nostalgic look. Hubcaps are Hollywood Flipper Style with Trim Rings on 15" rims. The car rides on 235/70R15 Daytona S/R Wide White Radials. The Convertible top is the correct style canvas as is the Tonneau cover. Both are in excellent condition. Running board covers are new fresh rubber. Windshields have correct Ford stamping. Antenna is mounted between windshields. Hood padding has been added to the underside of the hood. INTERIOR:Interior is in absolutely gorgeous condition with front seat redone in real leather. which even retains that "new leather scent". Rumble seat is redone in vinyl. Windows roll up and down like new. Woodgrain effect on dash. windshield surround. and door sills is superb. Steering wheel has been leather covered. Again the pictures tell the story. Original radio has been professionally converted to AM/FM Radio instruction manual is in the glove box as well as reprinted 1939 operators manual. Toggle switches under left side of dash operate back up lights and auxiliary electric fan. Wipers have been converted to electric. from original vacuum operation. Electrical system has been converted to a 12-Volt negative ground system. Spare tire is mounted behind driver's seat. A special tool kit was assembled to remove hubcaps and wheels. Factory storage compartment is behind passenger side of seat. Floormat is in excellent shape. Carpeted tan floormats have been added to driver and passenger side for extra protection for the floor area. Gas gauge and front yellow fog lights do not work. DRIVELINE & CHASSIS:Engine is all rebuilt and upgraded with finned aluminum Edelbrock cylinder heads. An Offenhauser intake manifold sits atop the motor with a Holley 390-CFM 4160 Four barrel vacuum secondary carburetor. An electric fuel pump back at the gas tank and fuel filter in same location provide the fuel. All wiring is new. A chrome 12-Volt alternator provides the current. An Optima 12-volt correct size battery sits in battery tray with a finned aluminum top plate. A miniature polished moon style tank mounted to the firewall provides vacuum for the Columbia 934 Two Speed differential operated by an "Overdrive" knob on the left upper dash board. Transmission is rebuilt stock. Radiator is new. Engine received some chrome dress up items to enhance under hood beauty. Exhaust is handled by a set of headers plumbed into duals with Smitty mufflers and echo cans. The exhaust system sounds great ! Brakes are rebuilt stock and work fine. The engine has just received a fresh oil and cartridge oil filter change. The spark plugs are also brand new. Every grease fitting has just been greased. Brakes have just been bled and brake fluid is Dot 5 Silicone. Tires are set at 35psi. Battery is fully charged.
