1946 Ford Short-Door Businessman's Coupe
I have decided to sell my 1946 Ford Short-Door Businessman’s Coupe. Unfortunately the finances are not available for continuing work on my little car. This car really is a true survivor. As you can see from the photos the car is NOT rust free, t has several areas that will need to be repaired. Trunk floor, oor jams and rocker boxes and minor repairs in other areas. The car is very repairable. I have repair pieces for the trunk, ocker boxes and some of the quarter panel section areas. The rest of the car is very solid. It has no headliner, owever the door panels and kick panels were redone, he dash was repaired and powder coated. The seat was rebuilt and is in great condition, t is the correct seat for a Businessman’s Coupe. All the gauges are deluxe gauges and all work except the clock. The lights all work, ead lights, ail lights, nterior, ash and parking lights. The original 8-cylinder Flat-Head engine runs like new, he person I bought the car from said the engine had been rebuilt. Don’t know how many miles are on the engine after that rebuild. Car is very drivable, drive it all the time to the store or to friends or for fun, tc. The clutch appears good however has some chatter when backing up an incline. The brakes were rebuilt, 4) new wheel cylinders and break shoes on the front. The rears were good. The gas tank is a new steel tank with an electric fuel pump. New 5/16 copper fuel line installed, ebuilt starter and a new alternator in stead of a generator. The windshield is new, ll the rest of the glass should be replaced. It’s got four new 15” radial tires with no more that 25 miles on them. It has duel exhausts with 22”Smitty Mufflers. Sound’s pretty good if you like the sound of a Flat-Head. This car is pretty rare in that it is a survivor and has not been cut up or modified in any way. It is a complete 1946 Ford Businessman’s Coupe. After 69 years I don't think there are too many left that are in the original condition. (Engine, ransmission, uspension, eat, auges etc.) I have some misc. parts that go with the car, Generator, uel pump, ight rear fender, ear gravel guard etc.). Car is titled and registered in California with tags good until October 2015. I’m offering the car for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early if a local buyer emerges. If you have ANY questions, lease contact me by email or call me at 619-660-0063. I will answer any questions you may have, hanks for looking. Buyer is responsible for pickup.
