It seems that almost everywhere you see a Ford Racing logo you also see some variation of the name Jack Roush. A true man's man who likes fast cars, ast planes, nd sometimes mixing the two, The Cat in the Hat" has turned tweaking Ford's best high performance hardware into a form of modern art. And that's the main reason his namesake company, oush Performance of Livonia, ichigan, irtually OWNS the Ford tuner market. If you want a specialty piece that actually has the performance to match its aesthetics, ll you have to do is look for a square fender badge that's comprised of a red and black "R". And this 2014 Stage 3 is a factory-fresh warhorse that's functionally cooler thanks to an R6 aerobody kit, ignificantly quicker thanks to a 625 horsepower ROUSHcharged V8, nd more athletic thanks to a fresh, rack-tuned suspension. In fact, ot only is this top-notch Mustang fun, ependable and scary quick, t'll also hold its own next to the finest vintage metal your local cruise-in has to offer. If you're looking for the perfect combination of classic show, EM quality and major go, his showroom fresh Ford is the deal of the year!

BODYWORK/TRIM

The fifth generation Mustang is heralded as some of the best looking metal produced in decades. With its bulging fenders and crisp lines, he car's design not only plays well into the current trend of nostalgic goodwill, ut also appeals to just about anyone with a pulse. And this low-mileage Roush Stage 3 takes those crowd-pleasing traits and wraps them in two things Mustangs arguably wear best dark paint and aggressive stripes. In looking over this Ford's pristine body, t becomes obvious that the car's one owner barely enjoyed any seat time at all. Its factory paintwork is super glossy and devoid of any problem areas. That clean basecoat is accented by wrinkle-free graphics, hich hearken back to ponies of yore. And, s a practically brand new offering, anel fitment and overall finish are still assembly line-perfect!

Combining sculpted, uscular sheetmetal and well-planned appearance upgrades with a buttoned down stance and clean, odern detailing, his awesome Roush creation takes Ford designer J. Mays' theme of 'retro-futurism' and literally brings it to life. At the front of the car, oush high-flow grilles hang an offset "3" emblem between trick HID headlights, ero driving lamps and an aggressive chin spoiler. Behind that grille, factory-spec GT hood anchors an optional Roush scoop between ghosted "ROUSHCHARGED" scripts, ody-matched mirrors and a silver "ROUSH" windshield banner. At the sides of that hood, raditional Roush Performance emblems and "RS3" branded decals perfectly contrast monochromatic Roush side splitters. And at the back of the car, Roush-designed fascia hangs sequential LED tail lamps between a 3-piece Roush spoiler, Roush-designed valance and Roush-specific exhaust.

ENGINE

Created as a turnkey package for enthusiasts who want a reliably engineered Mustang that unlocks the full potential of Ford's newly minted Coyote motor, he Roush Stage 3 utilizes an intercooled R2300 supercharger to twist a stout 575 horsepower into a stellar 505 lb./ft. of torque. But, or those who think 575 horsepower simply isn't enough, oush also offers a Phase II package like the one on this pony, hich twists an insane 625 horsepower into a brutal 525 lb./ft. of torque. The car's patented ROUSHcharger, pgraded with an 85mm Phase II pulley, s an Eaton-produced blower that exhales through a relocated and redesigned single core cross-flow intercooler, hich helps manage on-track temperatures and create gobs of torque-rich power. In front of that blower, Roush Phase II Cold Air Induction Kit makes good use of a 110mm MAF tube, larger clean air tube and an open air box. At the sides of that kit, ord-branded coil covers combine with optional Roush hood struts to dress things up a bit. And between those covers, familiar Roush intake complements a Phase II-exclusive serpentine F.E.A.D. and molded, oush hoses. Ford's newest V8 is a very strong engine as is, ut the experts at Roush went ahead and installed a beefier cooling system and a recalibrated ECM in case this Mustang's new owner wanted to spend ample time at the track. As with all newer Roush products, he car's left shock tower proudly displays a Roush Performance badge, hich lists the engine's power output and verifies its authenticity. And on the car's right shock tower, ou'll find a satin metal plate with the signature of the technician who bolted the engine together. Aesthetically, he spotless mill features a typical OEM-level appearance that displays hardly any signs of usage at all. And when you twist its key, ou become the lead composer of a veritable orchestra of sinister whines and octane-fueled roars!

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

Straight from Dearborn the D2C Mustang platform is a very capable foundation; and with a few upgrades from Roush Performance, t becomes a true force to be reckoned with! Behind the engine, factory 6-speed drives a rugged Ford 8.8-inch rear end. That stout drivetrain powers a tuned front strut and 3-link rear suspension that's fitted with a larger front stabilizer bar, niquely-valved shocks, ncreased-rate springs, etter bushings and a Roush anti-wheel hop kit. Braking is handled by optional Brembo binders, hich are aided by standard anti-lock hardware and Ford's AdvanceTrac traction control. The car's killer engine note is provided by a rowdy Roush exhaust system, hich is a 'no brainer' dealer-installed option. At the corners of the floor, antastic Roush wheels spin super sticky 275/35R20 Cooper Zeon RS3s that were specifically developed for the Stage 3 package. And overall, he bottom of this wicked Ford, hich is super clean and shows no signs of abuse, ppears to have spent 80% of its life tucked away in a dry garage and 20% of its life serving as a pampered weekend cruiser.

INTERIOR

Peek through the car's tinted windows and a stylish, river-friendly interior stares back. Highly bolstered, oush-branded seats, angerously close to what you might find in a purebred track warrior, it snug as a glove. In front of those seats, French-stitched steering wheel spins around a chrome-trimmed instrument panel that's augmented by a Roush boost gauge. The dash framing that instrument panel is some of Ford's best modern work, eaturing a heritage-inspired dual-cowl design, ppropriately matted trim and a subtle "Jack Roush USA" script. At the center of that dash, ord's acclaimed SYNC system hangs optional navigation above optional Shaker audio, cool "Stage 3" emblem and a white Roush shift ball. At the sides of that dash, rench-stitched door panels feature large speakers and controls for the car's standard power windows, ower door locks and power mirrors. At the bottom of those panels, ike-new carpet is stretched tightly between billet foot pedals and illuminated Roush sill plates. Opposite that carpet, Roush light bar adds some much needed safety. And, ehind the cockpit, ou'll find a surprisingly spacious trunk.
