We have a low, ut confidential reserve price on the car but all offers will be considered and the car may very well be sold below our reserve. We have taken into consideration the work involved to get this car back on the road in original and/or street rod condition.
I personally knew the owner of this car. He last drove it in 1977 and gave it to my bestfriend when he no longer felt he could drive safely. It has sat in a NJ garage since 1977. He asked me to sell it, o here it is. Before I forget, he car is missing the keys.
This car has a very rare locking steering column ignition that I did not believe was available on a 1947 Ford till I saw it - seen in a picture. The motor is aFlatheadV8 = don't know the cubes or hp. We turned the motor and it is not frozen - we did not attempt to start it. Clutch still feels great and I dry shifted it, ent smoothlythru the gears, ike butter. The brake pedal goes to the floor - master cylinder is under the driver side floor with aexcess cap.Emergency brake handle still works and releases fine. As of right now, haven't been able to open the back doors, tuck for some reason, ut I will get them open without damaging anything. Truck handle worked and opened the trunk till I slammed it shut yesterday and now handle is not releasing the latch, o I'll see what's wrong there ( I took the back seat out - to get the truck opened up for pictures ). The roof is dent free and very nice. The door hinges are fine. There is some body rusted thru on the lower back area of the front passenger fender, ust above the running board and car has some other exterior rusty spots and dings, ll easy fix areas. (just limited in showing every single minor issue with the pictures allowed by eBay). Both running boards are good and solid. Has some rusty floor board areas but I didn't pull the rubber floor coverings up to see the extent. Hood brackets are good - one spring is off (just noticed it laying on the engine-I'll put it back on) and one d/s bracket has a rusty/came loose arm. Glass - driver side front vent has cracks and driver side rear vent swing out window has a single crack = All the other glass is fine with no cracks or chips. Front cowl vent opens with the inside handle. ***Missing are the hood ornament, ear trunk ornament, orn button, eadlight lenses and one headlight ring, he 4 hubcaps (still has all 4 beauty rings), he 6 volt battery, oth front parking light lenses, issing one tail light bezel - I think that's it on missing parts. The rear seating has the two floor mounted swing out foot rests. Has all the door handles and all the dash chrome and other parts are on. Has all the dashboard knobs. Good inner glove compartment box. Both inside sun visors are in place. Headliner has several small holes and a larger one in the back but it is all there and not hanging down. Has very minimal body rust for a Jersey car. Chassis has surface rust but is not rusted thru in any area and the frame is Solid. Has a solid front I beam axle with leaf spring.I put two "brand new" B.F Goodrich quality tires on the back rims. Has one original snow tire on the rim that I'll call a spare tire. The front tires are the originals. All the (5) rims are 600 x 16".Has the complete original working jack, andle and the base.Has 99% of the interior items, adio, nobs, auges, wo ashtrays on top of dash - missing one of the inner trays. I haven't and won't be putting the car on a lift but the under carriage, lthough rusty, ooks intact, ncluding the exhaust system with the single tailpipe. Gas tank has some rust but not rusted thru. The car has never been in a accident and it is straight as an arrow. Bumpers are straight. Paint is original. It does have some dings and a few or several scrapes. Trunk floor has some rust thru on one side as seen. The passenger rear door has some bottom rust spots, nbsp;the other 3 doors are very good. Interior door panels have age. All the door handles, indow handles are present. All the arm rest are present. Front and rear seats were recovered long ago and are in fair shape. He had front seat belts installed, robably the same time the seats were re-covered. Rear seating area is very spacious as you would sit far back by the rear vent window to enjoy any ride. Some of us older guys would of enjoyed this car for those early 1960's Friday night dates........... All and all, t is a very solid car to restore or excellent to street rod. The pictures are a better all around description, o use the close up and see what you think. Need specific pictures, ust ask - not a problem. The mileage is accurate and this man really just drove around his home in South Plainfield, J. I don'tbelieve he ever went over 55 mph if even that fast, t least not when I knew him. Here she is, ot perfect by any means but 100% original except for the few items he added ( seat covers and front seat belts). My friend put the title in his name two years after he had the car ( 8/6/79 ) and the prefix on the title ( Bill of sale ) is A - pretty sure the A stands for 2nd owner since every time you title a Jersey car it goes up by one letter = A to Z. It is a clear and clean title. I'm sure I may of missed mentioning something that you need to know - your questions are welcome. Remember, he car hasn't been started or driven since sometime in 1977 and it's missing the keys. Holding the car till you can pick it up, fter payment is made, or any reasonable amount of time is not a problem. Thanks
