Description

This is my amazing 2012 Boss 302 Laguna Seca (#649 of 750).
About the Laguna Seca model, t is a factory option that is the track-oriented version of the Boss 302. On top of the standard Boss it included the paint and decal scheme, he rear seat delete kit with crossbrace, ifferent adjustable damper settings, ifferent springs, taggered and different style wheels, ifferent tires, different rear spoiler, ower production numbers and probably some other things I can't recall. It also included a different front splitter, ransmission air scoop, nd a brake cooling duct kit, ut they are not factory installed on the car, hey come in a box. The car comes with a silver key and a red key (the TracKey.) This is so you can use the regularengine tune or the TracKey tune, epending on which key you use. The TracKey programming (Which is purchased aftermarket and installed by a Ford dealer) includes several differences, ost notably the removal of the skip-shift "feature" that annoyingly forces you to shift from 1st to 4th under certain acceleration conditions, nd improved throttle response. I mention the throttle response because for me, t is the mostnoticeable difference between the keys. The regular key responds fine to throttle increase, ut has a tendency to hang at RPM when you reduce throttle. The red key responds instantly in both directions and adds a lot of character to the naturally aspirated awesomeness of the car. The red key also has RPM adjustable launch control, it lane speed control, nd a more aggressive idle. When you shift gearswith the silver key, t sounds like it's ripping open a black hole, hile the red key usually includes some wonderful popping sounds.
Those are general Laguna Seca highlights, et's talk about this car:
I am the original owner and am very sad to let it go. However, y loss is your gain!
I bought the car inDelaware in December 2011. The miles are mostly highway, s the car has been all over the US. It's been garaged for most of its existence, ust not the last 6 months. My expectation after buying it was to keep it forever.
This Kooks exhaust system is specifically built for the Boss 302 and includes two larger side pipes (the factory pipes are not visible from the side) with the long tube headers, -pipe, nd mufflers. Also installed are QTP electric cutouts so you can close off the side pipes to take it from NASCAR loud to regular loud. The remote is mounted with velcro to the cup holder lid. You will have a hard time finding a better sounding car. Very aggressive sound that responds to the tiniest throttle movement. Truly epic sound (and it should be for around $4,000 installed.) Car features super loud cold starts. See video links below.
The red and black stays true to the factory design, ust that whatever was originally gloss black has been covered in matte black vinyl. The only license taken was I had the corner windows covered in vinyl also. The Boss 302 stripes currently installed are a cheap version from American Muscle. They look fine, ut if you compared it side by side with the originals you would see a difference in quality.I'm including a full Ford OEM original set should the new owner choose to re-vinyl or convert to original gloss black.
The navigation system that is built into the rearview mirror was installed by yours truly. It uses an internal speaker and has maps that areupdatable via download to its memory card. It also has bluetooth capability but is noisy to the person you're talking to when I tested it so I don't want to list that as a feature.
The carbon fiber driveshaft makes idling through parking lots much easier as you can take off and shift gears with no throttle input.
The tires are Nitto Invo as the factory tires are expensive, nly lasted 5,000 miles, nd are not water friendly at all. They are in excellent condition all around and imagine they'd last at least 10,000 more miles.
The Ford Racing TracKey was installed by State College Ford Lincoln. The matte black wrap was installed by STICK in Morgantown, V. The exhaust, lectric cutouts, nd driveshaft at Rodeheaver's Hot Rod Shop near Uniontown, A. Car was run on adyno before and after each and is up ~25 HP from stock with 399 HP at the rear wheels now.
If you want a car that will get more attention and compliments than you'd imagine, his is for you. You simply will not be seen without a positive shout or thumbs up. Or if you want what will surely be a valuable collectable in years to come it's also a great choice.
No mechanical problems, ver. Original factory paint has one door ding that is minor enough it doesn't show through the vinyl wrap. I can't even remember which side it's on. I'd give the vinyl 75%. I would keep it on for another year myself. It has a few small bubbles and there are some minor scratches, nd some worn spots. As the pictures show, verall it still looks great, nless you're looking for imperfections.
The Kooks header-back exhaust is catalytic converter free. If you want to change that the "Green" Kooks catted H-pipe for this exhaust that is 49 state legal retails for $1300. CEL from the exhaust comes on around 100 miles after reconnecting the battery (from storage.) The green H-pipe is guaranteed not to throw the light, r you could get a tune for the included SCT programmer that prevents it, r reinstall the original exhaust, r my personal favorite, gnore it because the glorious combination of sound and TracKey is worth it, lthough the green pipe might not take too much away. The clear plastic cones in front of the tach and speedometer have cracks around them, t just looks like they need cleaned. Driver's seat has a small wear spot from the seatbelt rubbing on shoulder area. I received a letter this week from Ford that there is a recall to the driver's airbag, ut there is no fix available yet.The driver's seatbelt has rubbed against the center console and created a wear spot. The support struts for the front splitter were originally coated in black and are now worn to a silver look. Anything else that may appear as a flaw in the pictures is a reflection or shadow (or bug guts.)
Also included with the car (Will ship whatwon't fit in the car):-Full original exhaust-Full set of Ford OEM Boss 302 decals (they were $1,100...!!)-Original driveshaft-Original rearview mirror-Original front lip-The never installed, ut includedwith the car from Ford, ransmission air scoop and front brake cooling duct kit-Handheld SCT Tuner that is setup for the car, owever has not been used since I love the TracKey so much-Owners package that Ford sent me after I bought it that has a book about the history of the Boss 302's, poster, nd a numbered keychain-Receipts from servicing and aftermarket mods
The Carfax and Autocheck history reports confirm one owner, lean title, o major accidents. However, here is a report for an accident in Pittsburgh that neveroccurred. I am currently working with Carfax, ennDOT, nd Pittsburgh City Police to get proof that the VIN for my car wasincorrectly used on this report. I'm willing to swear on my daughter that this car is totally accident free. In fact, would have sold it long ago like I did my '11 GT as after that car was hit, ven once repaired, t just felt... soiled. I haven't heard back from Autocheck, ut I guess that's one reason I had never heard of them before this week.
In short, his car is in wonderful condition with around $9k of aftermarket adds and I'm attempting to be 100% honest and very detailed about anything that is not perfect. I hope that is apparent and appreciated.
For videos (I'll apologize for the picture quality upfront because they are pretty shaky, ut the whole point was to capture the sound of the car so I'm not too worried about that) click below:Cold StartIdling WalkaroundSilver Key, ormal Driving, ide Pipes ClosedSilver Key, ormal Driving, ide Pipes Open(at ~30 second mark)Silver Key Spirited DrivingStandard Idle to TracKey Idle ChangeTracKey Acceleration and DrivingThese are just several clips of the car running in various conditions to give you an idea of the sounds. Spirited runs are below 5000 RPM so you can imagine more of the same if you were to go to 7500.
