Selling my pride and joy....1990 Ford ASC McLaren Mustang. This car is one of only 65 produced the final year of production.
The car is triple black (Exterior, Interior, Conv top), Silver wheels, Automatic, Keyless Entry and the Whistler Radar Detector. This is the ONLY one built in this combination making it a 1 of 1 car.
The car sports a extremely low 7730 miles on it currently. I have owned the car 9 years now. I am the second owner. I purchased the car from a family friend and local car collector.
The car does have a few AWESOME modifications (about $4600 back in 1995) just to wake up the stock 5.0L powertrain.Polished Paxton supercharger (running a very mild boost).Ford Motorsport ribbed valve covers.Polished intake manifold.Hedmann long tube headers.Dual exhaust, fully coated.Summit TCI torque converter.New rear end gear with speedo recalibration gear..(I do have all the original parts which will be included with the sale) minus the back half of the exhaust (see picture).
The car still retains the original Goodyear Eagle VR60 tires with great tread!
Included with the car is the following:2 soft indoor car covers (take you pick on which one you like to use).1 zipper closure car bag for car storage.1 ASC McLaren original DVD prepared by ASC (I have never watched).1 ASC license plate1 ASC baseball hat1 very RARE ASC McLaren wrist watch1 3-ring binder full of documentation.
Included in the binder are hand written correspondences between the previous owner and Sanford "Sandy" Block. Pictures of cars before and after conversion at ASC. All original documentation (bill of sale, warranty records, key tags, owners manuals, documentation on all 65 cars produced for 1990, price lists, take rates, order forms, and on and on). There is so much information/documentation included, probably more than any other car out there.
I have only posted a few pictures of the car. If there are any additional pictures you would like, just shoot me a note. I have plenty more that I can share.Take a look at the ascmclaren.org website and look at the album page for 1990 cars. You'll see my car shown there.
I am happy to discuss the car with anyone. Send me your information in a question to the listing and I'll get back with you.
Vehicle pick-up or shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer. Down payment of $500 due within 3 days of sale. Balance timing can be negotiated.
NOTE: Just to be totally open with communication, I've been answering a bunch of questions some asking if all the accessories work. So, I had the car out of the garage the last couple days and have found that the air bag light will flash 6 times, go off and then repeat. I looked online and see that the most common issue is a bad clockspring. However in the last 4 times that I have had the car running the light did this only 50% (2 out of 4) of the time. So, two of the times it was as if everything was good. So, I have been checking other items. All the lights, horn, radio, turn indicators, etc do function as expected.
Update on the air-bag light. I had the car out in the sub the other night and found the air-bag light flashes the 6 times goes out and repeats. Also, tried the cruise control and found that in-op. So looking online this appears to confirm that the clock-spring has gone bad and will need to be replaced.
Also on the A/C. It is still the r12 system and does function. The air blowing out is cold but not ice cold like my daily driver. Is it not as efficient as current cars or could it use a recharge?
