Up for auction is this 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner Retractable Convertible Coupe. I purchased this car from an older gentleman 3 years ago. He had began disassembling the car for restoration but realized it was just too much work and beyond his means to finish. Car is complete and has some extra parts that go with it.
Engine/Trans:
The original 312 engine has been completely rebuilt by Privitt Machine and it has never been reinstalled – it is still on the engine stand. It comes with exhaust manifolds, pulleys, starter, generator, air cleaner, distributor, etc. Complete transmission with bellhousing, converter, and transmission is included.
Interior/Dash:
Dash is complete and un-assembled. Gauges, steering column/wheel, glovebox, radio are all in place. The seats have been removed forbetter pics – they will be reinstalled in the car. Original seats and covering – springs are solid but covers & foam will need replaced. Rear metal door panel pieces are very nice and solid. Has all garnish moldings and trim.
Body/Top:
Includes complete front clip – fenders are straight and have had some patchwork around the headlights - they are useable/repairable. Hood is good & solid, doors are both very solid, both rear quarters have had some repairs and rattle-can primed. I would suggest replacing the lower rear quarters & complete rocker panels. Floors and trunk are pretty solid – but will need some patching in the corners. Deck lid is very nice as well as the tail panel. The top is very nice, no rust, good hinges and complete hydraulic system. The guy I bought it from said he had tested all the solenoids and had the top going up and down – I have not tried to lower it. There is a lot of stainless trimand other parts that is included but not shown in pics.
Condition:
The car is complete but partially disassembled – I will bolt on what I can today and load the rest of the parts inside for ease of transporting. Rolls & steers – tires hold air, no brakes. Sold AS IS.
Terms:
$500 deposit due within 72 hrs of sale end – balance due within 7 days or upon pick-up, whichever comes FIRST. I can assist with loading and can store the car up to 30 days unless other arrangements are made in advance. Bill of Sale will be provided – I can obtain a clear Kansas title if needed. If you have any questions, please call Scott at 620-330-6815. Car is located 10 miles south of Independence KS 67301. Buyer responsible for transportation.
