DAILY DRIVER, THUNDERBIRD 390 V8, AUTO TRANS. This truck has been driven almost daily for the past few years. Very minimal rust, strong engine and straight body make this a sweet shop truck or easy project to take to the next level. Take a look at the details below.
Cosmetic
  • Paint/Body: Straight body in primer looks consistent from bumper to bumper. Great shop truck look as is, or block and paint to finish. A couple of minor rust spots to patch if you want a finished look.
  • Interior: Sharp interior with nice seat cover and clean looking dash. Drivers door and glove box need to be paint matched to finish the look.
  • Glass/Windows: All glass is in good condition, windows roll up and down easily.
  • Trunk: Aluminum strips in bed, would look nice with a wood-grain faux paint job or fresh paint or bedliner.
  • Undercarriage: Rust free frame rails, couple small spots of rust in cab corner. Heavy old-school undercoating applied in the 70's
  • Wheels/Tires: New chrome wheels with good tires
Mechanical
  • Drivetrain: 390 4bbl Thunderbird engine starts easily and runs strong. She does have an exhaust manifold leak on passenger side. Cruise-O-Matic transmission shifts flawlessly, and also has the Thunderbird rear end. Truck drives with plenty of power and rides great!
  • Lights/Electrical: Lights work, brake lights need to be wired to new switch in the pedal.
  • Brakes: Brakes have new master cylinder. Stops ok, but the pedal is a bit stiff and probably needs to be serviced again for perfection.
