A rare 1967 Jaguar 420 Sedan with original interior and opalescent blue exterior color, ith 80,000 miles.
Chosen by the Simeone Museum for their exhibition Best of Britain in 2014.
In 1967, o provide even closer family resemblance with the Mark X, which was named 420G that year, aguar announced the 420. This was an S-Type with a squared up Mark X nose including a square grille and four headlamps. By this time, here was little of the original Jaguar Mark 11, pon which it was originally based, eft. This example is extremely rare, s it is one of only 75 left-hand drive cars brought into the USA with manual floor change and air conditioning. The interior is original as is the exterior color. The Jaguar 420 and its Daimler Sovereign equivalent were introduced at the October 1966 London Motor Show and produced for two years as the ultimate expression of a series of Compact Sporting Saloons (Sedans) offered by Jaguar throughout that decade, ll of which shared the same wheelbase. Developed from the Jaguar S-Type, he 420 cost around $400 more than that model and effectively ended buyer interest in it. The S-Type continued to be sold alongside the 420/Sovereign until both were supplanted by the Jaguar XJ6 late in 1968. Only 2600 of these cars were built with left-hand drive. Very few are left. This car is extremely rare (Only 75 imported to the US) as it has a manual floor shift, overdrive and factory air conditioning. It was first registered on May 18, 967 in Stamford CT. The interior and interesting opalescent blue exterior color are original.
