1967 JAGUAR E-TYPE XKE ROADSTER. SERIES ONE, .2 LITER. TRIPLE CARBS, OGGLE SWITCHES, PEN HEADLIGHTS. 4-SPEED, HROME WIRE WHEELS. ORIGINAL COLOR: WILLOW GREEN. AN EXCELLENT, RY TEXAS CAR STORED FOR THE LAST 30 YEARS.
Offered for sale, rom KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, s this excellent Series One E-type Open Two Seater (OTS) for improvement. This car was just purchased from its long time Texas owner who purchased it when it was only 9 years old in 1976. It has been stored indoors in his garage for almost 3 decades. The car is extremely solid and straight and it's recorded mileage of 74,228 is believed to be genuine. This car has only had one repaint in it's current red over it's original Willow Green paint.
The car is believed to have it's original engine block # 7E12625 but has no number stamped on the cylinder head. I'm not sure if it's a late enough 1967 model to apply but Jaguar stopped stamping the cylinder heads at some point...The engine turns nicely by hand and may even run with a little work to the ignition / fuel systems. The braking system would need rebuilding to make it a driver. The engine bay appears largely original and very complete.
The body on the car is very, ery good. It's nice and straight, ust about totally rustfree, save for a few bubbles around the RH rear fenderwell. It appears completely accident-free with nice fitting panels and very good gaps. This car has been stored a long time which has preserved it's bodywork. The front floors are perfectly solid but have the typical dents from underneath. The bonnet is in excellent condition.
The interior is older with modest quality black vinyl and loop carpeting. At one point, pair of 3.8 Liter Roadster seats were fitted which are incorrect for this car, ut are more valuable and can most likely be sold for a profit plus acquiring the original seats! The car is only misiing it's radio console which is available new.
Overall, a really good, olid, onest, ell-preserved 4.2 Roadster needing improvement. The new owner can opt to perform a perfect Concours-style restoration, hich this car is the perfect candidate for. They could also just carry out enough work mechanically to get the car back on the road and enjoy it as is, osmetically improving it later.
