4 SALE, Restored / Rebuilt / Repaired / Repainted Classic Jeep CJ 7. They don't get any better than this Classic 1978 Jeep CJ 7. This Jeep has not been molested, bused or cut up in the past 38 years. It's a true rust free California CJ 7 that is in like new conduction today. This Jeep CJ 7 was sold new with the Renegade package and also was fitted with all the high end factory options offered new from Jeep in 1978. Then I added even more options to make it even better than what Jeep sold new in 1978 . One of the nicest optioned CJ 7 on this planet. the Factory V8 - 304 ci motor. The motor even retains "all it's factory original smog equipment 38 year's later" (That's rare). The motor runs outstanding " like new" and purrs like a cat! It's a reliable stock rebuild motor. The original Jeep radiator was "up graded" to a newer / better aluminum radiator for even better cooling then when sold new. The motor is backed by a "factory Turbo 400 "bullet proof" auto transmission that is in like new working order. The front end is factory Jeep Dana 30 and the rear end is factory Jeep Dana 20 as it should be. All running gear under this Jeep is factory correct and original to this Jeep. All the running gear under this Jeep has been rebuilt / repaired and is in like new working order. This Jeep is also equipped with the factory high end option of (Jeep Quadra trac ) Jeep Quadra trac is Jeeps factory AWD (((" All Wheel Drive )))" Yes, his Classic Jeep CJ 7 was sold new with the high end option of "All Wheel Drive back in 1978. ( If you wanted to pay the big bucks to get it). It's also a 4 WHEEL DRIVE Jeep just like all other Jeep with a HIGH RANGE and LOW RANG, Wheel Drive transfer case. This CJ has the factory "Borg Warner" 1339 "4 by 4 Transfer case option under it. " Giving you a AWD Jeep for "better handling, tability and safety" on the roadways . Then you "also get" the factory 4 Wheel Drive " OFF ROAD transfer case LOCKER OPTION" ( USED FOR OFF ROAD DRIVING ONLY) when in the mud, and, deep snow or hill climbing,camping and any other off pavement adventures you want to go on. You don't need to get out of the Jeep to "lock the front hubs". You turn a switch on the dash to engage the 4 wheel drive locker option and keep going! ((( SEE VIDEO ))) . To keep it simple the 4 wheel drive lockers switch works much like aftermarket air lockers you can install today. It locks both the front and the rear end together- equal power to both front and rear end at the sale time! Will get you out of trouble if needed. This Jeep drives and "handles outstanding" on the street, ighway and even windy mountain roads. Unlike most short wheel base Jeeps driving in 2 wheel drive on the pavement. The factory gearing is 3.54 great gearing for a Jeep that can be driven everyday On "or" Off road. The 3;54 is a great mid range gearing so you you get the best of both worlds in this Jeep CJ. The "AWD" and the extra "4 Wheel Drive Locker Option" will take you on any OFF ROAD adventure you through at it. Then the AWD "all wheel drive" will let you drive it every day in town or on the highway or out of town on the longer out of tow adventures. Jeep guys call the AWD a 70/30 torque split = front to rear. 70 percent of the power and torque push Jeep from the rear. The other 30 percent of the power and torque will pull Jeep from the front. Giving the driver much better overall control and handling of the vehicle. (It's true) this Jeep handles and driven nicer than any rear wheel drive Jeep ever will. You drive this Jeep - Not it drive you ! The inside of Jeep was fitted 300,00 in high end dyan mat sound deader/ heat shield . Inside also fitted with a New full carpet kit. No rattles. Paint was color sanded and buffed to a wet look finish.( also have left over paint if you need to touch up anything in the future. If you do make sure you keep everything ( it's original to the Jeep) it very rare and hard to find any original smog stuff for the classic CJ V8. It Passed California smog inspection 1st try with flying colors. ( That's rare in California for any used vehicle.) It's a true California Jeep with Clear / Clean California title. " FUN JEEP HISTORY FACT " This Jeep was owned and titled by The State of California "Per California DMV" It was titled as a POLICE VEHICLE in the early days of it's life. Per California DMV A lot of the California beach city's and mountain towns Police departments of California owned and drove the Jeep CJ in the late 70 early 80. This Jeep 'did not" have police logo or police stuff bolted on it "or" hanging off of it." It was a unmarked police Jeep used by undercover police officers and Detective when needing an unmarked police vehicle. DMV would not tell me what police department drove it, ut did confirmed it was titled as a police vehicle in it's early days. Title history showing "Prior Police" kinda cool not a big deal. I was in Law Enforcement in the late 70 in California. This Jeep has never been damaged or wrecked . The original factory Vin tag is on dash and factory original vin plate on firewall under hood."as it should be in 1978". This Jeep has been well taken cared for by all past owners. The bottom side of the Jeeps looks outstanding " look's like it has never been off road." This Jeep retains all it "original body metal and floor pans" (with no rust or patch work "38 years later").
