As pictured, n original survivor 1983 AMC Eagle SX-4. The AMC Eagle SX-4 is a switch selectable 2WD / 4WD vehicle based on the 96 inch Spirit wheelbase and only manufactured in 1981, 982 and 1983. This car is 99% original and intact. These cars are very rare and those you find typically have debilitating and non repairable frame rust issues. This one has only the beginnings of rust through (as pictured) at the junction between the frame and left fender well. There is surface rust for sure on the undercarriage and though the body appears to be extremely solid, e cannot be certain there is no rust hidden under the fender and rocker flares. You are welcome to come inspect this car before buying.
This car has the potential to be restored and returned toregular service versus being a parts donor. We started it and drove it in our yard. It starts, uns and stops. The transmission will need service or a complete rebuild as it slips at times in gear.We have not tested to see if the 4WD engages but typically if it does not engageits only an issue with the vacuum line. The alternator belt is off so we have driven it only on the battery.
The interior is nice overall with no nasty odors. Engine complete as pictured. The choke will need attention. No battery beingsold with the car.
