NUC 881 E is a very rare 109 One-tonne that was completely restored in the UK approximately 14 years ago. It was MOT inspected, ndimported when I moved back to the US in 2002.Has been stored in a heated garage since imported, nd driven about 2000 milesin the last fourteen years. The engine is a MOD reman., nbsp;and a Series III trans., hich has more road worthy ratios and additional synchronized gears, as substituted during restoration. The doors were replaced with early Defender doors, s were the seats, nd it was converted to LHD. It has MOD "wolfe" wheels, nd 255/85 tires which are as close to 900-16 as are currently available. Original one-ton transmission goes with the vehicle. Everything else original, ncluding ENV axles, rame with adjustable shackles, rossmember with relief, nd one-ton springs. This is a factory one-tonne that was built before they were assigned their own serial number for the Royal Coast guard, nd according to the original civilian owner, ho also installed the Safari Roof, t had been used at a RCG airbase in SE England before he purchased it at a MOD sale.
Paint was taken down to the aluminum, nd it was repainted in it's original Royal Coast Guard blue. The interior has been treated to a heavy duty sound proof mat and seatbox cover, nd it drives very quietly and comfortably for a Land Rover. Everything works, nd it may be the only one in the US. Approximately 300 one-tons were manufactured over a 4 or 5 year period, nd, o my knowledge, his is the only year they were produced with the headlights in the correct Land Rover location, e., n the grille. This is an excellent Series IIa Land Rover. It has a solid chassis, hich passed MOT inspection, nbsp;and would be a nice addition to your collection, r can be driven.
