1987 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 90, 00 TDI
VIN - SALLDVBC7AA261705
Land Rover Defender 90 300 TDI. Need I say more! Great Britain at its Very Best. This is a classic vehicle and extremely rare in this part of the world.
Hello and welcome to the sale of my rare Land Rover Defender 90 TDI 300. Finished in Alveston Red and with only 136,000 miles on the clock, recently imported this emblem of quality and class from Britain. It is properly and legally registered with the fine state of Tennessee and has clear ownership title. This is a rare and high quality vehicle developed years ahead of its time and although 28 years of age, emains in fabulous used condition.
INTERIOR
The interior is well presented with 2 front leather seats and leather seating to fit 4 - 6 people in the rear cabin. The doors lock but are temperamental. An aftermarket Immobiliser was fitted a few years ago which comes with a separate key to protect this head turning, mportant vehicle, nd also a British stereo fitted with CD capability. The dash is original, on't expect luxury, his can easily be spruced up if you'd wish with little effort.
EXTERIOR
The vehicles original colour was green but resprayed in 2010 to set it apart from the more common green version. As with all Defenders of the 1980s please expect some bubbling around the body, ust and corrosion here and there and the odd dint and scratch. This is minor, ormal and commensurate with the age of the vehicle but certainly not a problem and certainly nothing to worry about in a country that uses far less salt on their roads than Britain! With the vehicle comes an original Land Rover touch up paint stick, ust incase!
The vehicle has just been fitted with a MANTEC swing away rear tyre carrier, nd the door has had the checkered place put on so looks the part. Please note this is not a cheap aftermarket part, nfact it cost the equivalent of $450 for the carrier plus installation which was another $450 - only the best for this Landy.
ENGINE AND DRIVE
The engine is the best engine for the car which is the bomb-proof 2.5 TDi 300 series and has 5 gears. This engine replaced the original engine (according to the previous owner) in 2010 when the car was resprayed and refurbished, here is no documentation to prove this but he seemed an honer able man and the car speaks for itself. The all important cambelt, ensioners and pulleys were renewed by a Land Rover specialist garage in Great Britain prior to import and I insisted upon having the vehicle re-serviced aswell (documentation available).
All 5 tyres are sound and were replaced under 2000 miles ago, hey are Michelin. A mere 136000 miles grace the clock which is a little beyond warming up for this most robust of engine and chassis. The onerous British MOT test of roadworthiness was completed a mere 3 months ago and no advisories (notice of potential ailments) were recommended! This is almost unheard of with a vehicle over two decades of age and is a testament to the build quality, ongevity and maintenance that this cherished 4 x 4 has had lavished upon itself.
Last year this Defender had part of the exhaust replaced, ew rear seats, new hard top, ew wiper spindles and chequered plates fitted around the common places. The chassis is very good with no welding and minimal rust. The only thing to mention is the bulkhead has some bubbling and has had a small repair (thumbsize) and then just general wear and tear for a 28 year old Land Rover. As you can see there is a snorkel fitted to the vehicle although presently unconnected.
CONCLUSION
Bid and buy with confidence. This is a classic vehicle; a slice of culture, istory and charm. The beginning and perhaps end of traditional four wheel motoring from the mother of country. A Rover of the Land, stablished as the backbone of engineering and performance when quality, eliability and prestige were at the forefront of industry expectations. This is a wonderful, herished and head turning vehicle that will set you – and it - apart from others. It is clean, erviced, as the appropriate provenance, nd is ready for the next decade .So look no further!
I have put a very reasonable price on the vehicle and I am open to genuine, lose, erious offers, lease only serious cash buyers. The car is located in Murfreesboro Tennessee. I am happy to deliver the car locally for cost of fuel. Any inspection is welcome. The vehicle has been professionally and legally checked for any outstanding finance, ccident damage, tolen record, nsurance problems etc etc and is COMPLETELY CLEAN. Vehicle is available from 15th July.
Any questions don’t hesitate to send me a message.
Best regards and good luck!
