Trail Ready Technician Built 96 D1 Introduction: This truck is your ticket to ANY reachable and unreachable location on the planet! Built for one reason only: To go reliably where others cannot – then 180 and winch up every lesser vehicle that has dared to follow! This amazing machine is available now – just before the summer rush. She is your turn-key. wish-list appointed truck that frankly. couldn’t be built at the shop even if you walked in with $10K in cash. I have a lot to say – covering performance. accessory. driving. and build details and I encourage you to read this whole ad. When It comes down to it. the few folks that know what this vehicle is. will get the gloves on so get ready!!! Service and Build History: This vehicle belongs to a very good friend of mine who is the Shop and Service Supervisor at one of the local Rover Dealerships. You can count on precision craftsmanship for the long-haul with all the enthusiast driven modifications that you could hope for. Easily a $1500+ valueClean Claifornia title with current reg in hand. 167000 miles and ready to go. Driving and Performance: I have seen this truck do battle with the meanest trails that exist west of the Rockies – Rubicon. John Bull. Hells Revenge. Black Bear. Miller – just to name a few. With your remote entry still working. get in and fire up the built 4. 6L motor and you’re ready to go. She does not overheat. hesitate. or stumble. As with all racing lifters. you will notice it “tick-over” at start up and within about 10-15 seconds its swiss-watch quiet and you don’t even feel her running while sitting in the truck. She’s still quick off the line and the exhaust has a mild throaty rumble – enough to hear it when you need to on the trail – but quiet enough to not lose your mind day to day driving. That said. the BFG KM2 mud terrains are in excellent shape and are. in my opinion. the smoothest and quietest extreme traction tire out there. She has excellent stopping power and for safety on the trail the ABS system has been deactivated. She has excellent road manners and cruises along on the freeway at 70mph before head and side winds become a factor. Steering Is agile and confident – the new comer to hiem jointed steering will notice a difference over the stock ball jointed tie rod ends. The feeling is best described as “easier” or “slicker” as HD joint’s have more complete geometry with their spherical design. It is a moot point but worth saying YES – all off road equipment works as it should – CDL. winch. CB. lights. etc. The hood has been blacked out in the center to offer relief from sun glare and the truck also comes with an SRS compliant velour black dash pad to eliminate sun glare as well. All doors open – although the rear cargo needs the typical push up and swing associated with a heavy oversized tire. AC and heat work great. Factory audio is crystal clear. Wipers. blinkers. lights. etc all work. Aesthetics: This vehicle was my friend’s exclusive pleasure vehicle as well as the trail leader vehicle for Dealership Off-Road Wheels events. It still had to be presentable while winching $100. 00+ vehicles out of the mud. The overall look of this truck is impressive. straight and clean but let’s face it – this was not an “event truck” built to sit at base-camp and showcase the latest. most expensive gear to never be used. It has battle scars and story worthy trail wear just about everywhere. You can climb over. under. through. side to side. front to back and find evidence of a life spent having fun in the great out doors. Its worth saying that while the interior is CLEAN and comfortable. its not one to cry over when your cup-o-noodles falls out of the cup holder while your pitched at 50+ degrees to the side!!! The GENUINE rubber floor mats have you covered! The ARB winch bumper is nearly perfectly straight and clean and the winch line is unfrayed and tight. The front seat-backs are in great shape. the seat bottoms are not! The GENUINE seat covers were the right option to hold up to the trail conditions. but if you must have leather. the bottoms need replacing. The RH alpine window has paint bubble. as does the RH quarter where it meets the RH rear door arch seam. Wheel arches. pans. bulkhead seams are all clean and tight. The headliner was just replaced and this was NEVER a smokers vehicle – it arguably smells like a new truck. The RH rear jump seat is the only survivor – the LH unit was removed for space reasons never to be found again! Purchasing. Perspective & Why World Proven: No one puts a Land Rover or Range Rover together better than me. PERIOD. It’s the vehicle I drive. and the vehicle I RACE. Nearly two decades of Rover ownership and service are poured into every truck that has ever made its way into new hands. It continues to blow me away at what people ask for these vehicles – especially with little to no service value. I do not believe in passing on hidden problems – these are vehicles meant to be enjoyed – the karma is more important – and the inspection/service process is always thorough to the best of my ability. Vehicles that I see off not only have domestic endpoints. they go to the farthest reaches of the planet. They have gone to Europe. Asia. The South Pacific. Central America and currently. a client recently purchased a trail-ready 88 RRC and is en route to Tierra Del Fuego after I picked him up in the vehicle at LAX when he flew in to receive it! The point here is. I believe in each and every vehicle that I usher in to new ownership. Please see my recent vehicle sales and I’m sure you’ll be impressed. While these vehicles are all totally looked after. they are not immune to future service needs and flaws. They are used vehicles and normal flaws and wear should be expected as the vast majority of them are pushing 20+ years old. I invite you to ask ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS NOW! There are no queries too obscure; your satisfaction is the goal here. Additionally. eBay offers a 3rd party inspection service to verify ALL of your acquisition needs IN PERSON. Purchase of the vehicle = SATISFACTION. Once this auction is over. the winning bid and purchase imply that satisfaction has been achieved and will be understood as such. There are no warranties offered here. but that said. there is always an unspoken “hand-shake” warranty meaning that should something fail within a reasonable amount of time – say a hose. a coilpack. a distributor. blower motors. an alternator. a switch. etc – I will be happy to send you what I have available at that time. This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION so you are bidding to win! Please make sure that you bid ONLY what you are prepared to pay. This means. when the auction is over. and the winning bid is placed. this becomes THE SALE PRICE of the vehicle. Under no circumstances does it open the door to negotiate or back out of your commitment. The people bidding for this vehicle actually want it. Do not spoil their chances at ownership by arm-chair bidding. Yes. everyone joins eBay at some point. and there is no prejudice against lower transaction numbers here – HOWEVER – if I suspect and/or become aware of any insincerity on the part of said bidder. I reserve the right to cancel all bids from and block that insincere bidder from this auction. Completion of this transaction is fairly straight forward. Once the auction is over. I will be contacting the winner immediately and we can discuss the easiest way to finalize the transition. Who is this truck for? I think the answer to that is clear! If you are a current Rover owner and have thought about building your current vehicle as this one is. then this example presents the perfect solution – keep your baby stock. and nab this vehicle ready to go out of the box! Also. for the more extreme off road set – I need not make plans for you – but she’s potentially a few steps away from fitting a fuel cell. cutting the floor. adding 3ft of triple by-passed suspension and beyond. Whatever the case is. this truck has been loved while being built. has been completely enjoyed out in the open. and is ready just in time to be your gateway to a summer filled with adventure. Thanks for the interest. good luck and Happy Rovering!!!
