This 1975 Mercedes 300D was my daily driver for two decades, ut now it just sits in my garage. It’s time to let someone else enjoy this classic example of German engineering. The car runs and drives beautifully. Tires are nearly new. Brakes are good. Seats and interior are in excellent shape, xcept that the vinyl on top of the dash is cracked in a couple of places. There are only two negatives worth noting: The body and paint need some work – there is rust behind each wheel well. The air conditioning doesn’t work properly right now, ut it worked fine when I was driving it regularly a couple of years ago. It probably just needs a coolant charge, ut I can’t guarantee that. I intended to fix this up to new condition and keep it forever, ut while working on an old pickup I found that I’m not the greatest at auto restoration. My wife has convinced me that it’s time to let this classic go and move on to other things. I’ll include several repair/maintenance manuals (Chiltons and several from M/Benz), il filters, nd several cans of Freon. The odometer currently reads 272,200.
